thank GOD daddy Biden is saving me from having to pay those wretched service fees. Concert fees are surely sucking the life blood out of our economy, and i am ECSTATIC that i can blindly trust in such a grand display of competence.
What would we do if our lord and savior didn't have their priorities straight? 😩
How about Amazon Prime? " Free delivery " is an illusion, and the streaming service has gradually become pay as you go. Soon it will have commercials unless you pay extra.

This rug pull hit me right around the same time I renewed my car lease and realized there was no longer a cd player in the dashboard. Streaming has really made my daily consumption entertainment more cumbersome and glitchy, prefer the days of hard wired cable tv when I could simply memorize a few numbers and channel surf at the speed of light

Just a comment on service fees. I bought tickets recently. Ticketmaster calls it "all in pricing." Now they give you one number that is jacked up to include the old service fees. Another Biden success story.

I would say this is indeed better than if you already invested some time into booking something and only at the end you discover that it actually costs more.
These are dark patterns: They know very well that you are more willing to pay the extra money after you invested some time than if they displayed it at the beginning.

Good point. I go to a lot of concerts with friends. I subconsciously have been adding in 25 to 35% to the total for years. It must really be a shock for the occasional buyer.

Not me but alimony. Don't get married.

Health insurance, the entire idea is truly backwards and upside down

I was thinking about this. I think I am not doing "regular" payments anymore, apart from strictly necessary to live and have a meaning. Years ago I decided to stop wasting my money on crap things. I simply stop buying them.
Anyways...

Banks prey on a lot of less financial savvy folks with late fees, overdraft fees, a minimum balance fee, etc

I'll say that posts only costing 1 sat on SN is a bullshit payment... (too low)
reply
could do something like 10x the cost of each additional post every 24 hours
1st post is 1 sat, 10 for 2nd, 3rd 100, 4th 1000, etc.
reply
yeah you would suggest that.
reply
reply
yes, because you spam the board every day three or four times, so you would think 111 sats is an appropriate cost, and that 24 hours is an appropriate amount of time to allow a spammer to return to low fee spamming.
reply
if my spam doesnt resonate with you you can simply redirect this energy elsewhere
reply
Yikes, what an immature response.
Well, hopefully "the system" of how SN works eventually prices out of sat farming / shitposting three-four plus times a day. Maybe if you could only "afford" one post a day, you would put a bit more effort into the content of the post instead of just throwing a bunch of shit at the wall and seeing what sticks?
There is no reason the first post of the day for any user should be any lower than 5000 sats, unless perhaps their account has accrued a high degree of reputation/seniority etc
reply
5k sats? And then those with more sats get to post for cheaper? Am i reading this right?
Definitely all of the bullshit streaming services and all of the various media things people pay increasing amounts of money per month for. That, and the exorbitantly overpriced internet costs my ISP charges...I am getting totally ripped off, paying $100 a month for 500 megabit down and only 25-30 megabit upload. When it was still "Time Warner Cable" and not "Spectrum" I had the same plan with the same speeds but it was only about $45 a month, it went up to $100 within a year and a half of them being bought out, ludicrous. You can get faster internet with less downtime/issues in Europe for like the equivalent of $20 a month.
I got rid of all of the different streaming services subscriptions and replaced it with IPTV. Now I pay $6 a month and I get over 5,000 channels streaming live in HD from all around the world, literally everything I could ever want to watch including all of the sports channels, NFL, NHL, soccer, UFC, whatever...plus on demand movies and tv shows, thousands of em. Even has XXX channels too lmao like those "black box" cable boxes from back in the day if anyone remembers those. Between IPTV, private torrent trackers w/my seedbox, IRC & usenet I'll never go back to paying for shit like Netflix again.

Which IPTV service do you use?

Insurances.. They are basically selling you fear what you are willing to pay.

Homeowners insurance. In some cases it's actually crazy how little they do for you in times of need. In Jaron Lanier's book 'Dawn of the new everything', I remember he recounts a story about how his childhood house burned down. Because the insurance company was so shitty, they didn't pay anything out and his dad had to out-of-pocket to clear the lot with their then burned-down house

Lol top of mine recently is renewing my drivers license, why do I need to do this? I didn't forget to drive, and the card is in a decent condition that I don't need to replace it, wtf bro?
