Heard this advertised on the podcast rounds recently, has anyone used it. Is it good?

I spend little time on social media apps, so I've found it helpful to find several meet-ups.
I've been bad at replying to individual messages, but with the small amount of people I've already engaged with, I can see how I can build relationships with people I'd never come across.
I am currently speaking to a guy in Nigeria who is at uni, and it is interesting to see/hear his first-hand experience.

I had a really disappointing convo with them on nostr where i asked why they dont let one pay the monthly subscriptipn with lightning or bitcoin. Their rebuttal was to highlight that i can sub with my credit card in the google play store. I then pressed them on why i cant pay monthly in lightning again, and they said is because people are less likely to stay with their sub and keep paying since its not subbing with a credit card for auto payments... π
Pretty lame answer for a btc company...i expect better.
I tried to find the note as reference but it was about 2 months ago.

I have used it for a few months. I use it to try to connect with local bitcoiners, which I guess is the whole point. I have had some success and met a few people, but the experience overall has been underwhelming so far. That may be because too few people are using it. I know some people have used it when they travel to check out the local community. I haven't tried that yet.

curious do you use your real life name there or the same as @siggy47
I found it a bit tricky, like I would prefer disconnecting my real life from online stuff , but then it's also good to have some POW right...

I use Siggy47, but that's a good question. When you are meeting people in person, it becomes an issue. I haven't had to address that yet.

I like the OPA and have the lifelong membership as well. It's great to connect to bitcoiners wherever you go. It's been a great tool to meet and discover bitcoin meetings in my area. I'm bad at replying to new messages but the app itself has been great for me.

I've used it to find a local meetup. So that is probably worth it right there. It's nice to see the many meetups out there.

I downloaded and used it a while ago, but it wasn't so many users during that time, so I uninstalled the APP π
