Hey, can the wallet withdrawal dialogue have a confirmation "are you sure to withdraw 5BTC" y/n dialogue?
I realized that invoices à la lnbc123...456 do not say how high the transaction is.
reply
Also, @DarthCoin you have tried out a lot of apps, haven't you? Do you have an overview which apps offer this security dialogue? High potential for fraud/scams when the world is hyperbitcoinized and normies keep all their life savings in a hot wallet.

Being a bitcoiner also brings more responsibility in your own actions.
I doubt users will just scan a 5BTC invoice, even if is onchain. Keep in mind that on LN is not supposed to pay large amount of BTC, but likely small usual payments. For onchain (large amount) user usually get a destination BTC address and he manually input the details by itself, not scanning invoices that already contain a quantity.
To answer your question, no, I never saw a wallet app that brings an extra alert message based on x amount. But for example Electrum wallet, if you activate "advanced payment options" you will have at least 3 steps to confirm until the tx is broadcast. So you really have to be quite dumb not to know what you are doing.

I agree with you. But my point is that not every invoice or qr code does exactly what the text around it says.
Thanks for the answer tho, appreciate it
reply
yes, indeed, you always have to check what you are paying. Usually after you scan, you have a review details before you hit pay button.

This is exactly what I'm suggesting the SN wallet should have :)

This is getting ridiculous now... every day at least a force close channel even with channels that not even have pending HTLC or routing at all. Today I had a FC with a LND peer that was not even routing at all! LN is broken in this stage.

I would recommend you to follow @alexbosworth and you will learn a lot about lightning.
reply
Sorry I am not a sheep to follow somebody to be able to learn about LN. That is stupid. I can think for myself, I can read documentation, I can test for myself. I just need some feedback or some tips where to look.
In the last 4 years I've read so much LN documentation that I reached a certain level of knowledge.
I asked a simple technical question after I've run several years various LN nodes. The question is about LN not working well in certain moment and trying to find out if more people have the same problem and we can do about it.
reply
I feel ya pain. My fees are stuck on my node.
reply
Dude, I think is time for you to recognize that you don't know what are you doing. I mean you have like 4 days straight complaining about this, and I don't see any other person with nodes complaining about it.
reply
I run LN nodes from 2019... various. I know what am I talking about. What is happening right now is really strange.
reply
I ran a node long time ago, All i can say, is that running your own linux box gives you better understanding of what is going on. I tried umbrel and for me wasn't a good experience. Maybe try to build a new clean LND node and import your seeds and channels there, and see how it goes.
Sorry for be mean on the first comment.
reply
No need to sorry man, I am not a snowflake :) Is not about mainly Umbrel. Umbrel is just a dumb webUI, all inside is a LND node. I run also a CLN node but that is another story.
reply
have 12 stable channels here. cheap, fibre uplink, 24/7. last closed 2 months ago and before 4 months ago. rewards low but still routing.
reply
12 channels are nothing. Running a node with only 12 announced channels will do almost nothing. Better run with un-announced (private) channels.
I run in parallel a CLN node with mostly private channels. Just for doing my private stuff. Works perfect.
I am talking here to build with LND a routing node, that is totally different than many people understand what is a LN node.
