I'm monkeying with the Mutiny wallet app. When I heard it was custodial that was good, but when it's also a PW...I'm interested!
I like PWAs for all the reasons they are what they are. But, to me, one of the qualifiers as a true PWA is "installability". Normally browsers suggest installation, tapping it downloads an icon that looks, feels, and behaves like a native app. It can then run independently of the browser. I'm not seeing this on Mutiny, yet want to see it.
Is this possible? Am I missing something here?
Yes. Not sure what you're missing here. Install it like you would would any other PWA. Google it for your browser.

Thanks. On desktop I now see the download button. On mobile I don't. I'm using the Samsung Browser which may be the issue.

Yes, go to https://github.com/MutinyWallet/mutiny-web/releases Download the latest apk and install it.
I suggest to use Obtainium so you can get also updates very easily

Okay, so now I'm a confused by the fact that it's evidently both a PWA as well as a native app. I can see how that's possible. My guess is that A. they're the same B. it allows for the user to choose native or PWA. Native is likely faster, but takes some storage space on device and updates via Obtainium. PWA is slower, but takes very little space and auto-updates.

If you are worried about a meaningless 50MB occupied on your device, then you should not use any bitcoin app...
