I'd like to provide you with a glimpse into the OPAGO PAY LIGHTNING POS-Terminal GEN1, with the final Terminal positioned on the far right. The primary challenge we faced was coordinating various parts from different manufacturers, reminiscent of a Tetris puzzle, especially since the Terminal features a touch-button function. We explored different methods, starting with typical 3D printing for the casing and transitioning to resin printing in the second phase. Ultimately, we settled on injection molding, deeming it the most suitable method for both the touch function and surface texture of the Lightning Terminal.
This is what the tool looks like for manufacturing the casings using the injection molding process, by the way:
The Terminal houses an NFC chip, allowing it to accept online (WiFi), offline (payee has internet), and NFC payments via any Lightning wallet, as well as LNURLw or Boltcard. Surprisingly, the battery life is quite impressive, lasting several days depending on usage. I was pleasantly surprised when comparing it to my phone's battery life. The GEN1 was designed here in Bavaria, and we currently assemble it locally. The Terminal can be set up with any Lightning wallet, and incoming payments are instantly forwarded to the linked Lighting wallet. Therefore, we operate as a Non-Custodial and Bitcoin-only service. Currently, we don't require a KYC process since we only "forward" payments, but this may change with the introduction of MiCA. At the moment, we can only distribute the Terminals in Europe, as we currently hold the CE certification and are in the process of obtaining certifications for other regions.
The GEN1 will be available for purchase in Europe in a couple of weeks.
While we've received feedback on the final color, we believe that Bitcoin, or the Terminal itself, demands maximum attention to seamlessly integrate into the daily routines of both merchants and customers.
Ideally, merchants, following the guidance of @Darthcoins, would utilize LNBits, including LNPOS or TPOS. For other merchants less tech-savvy or lacking the time to run their own node, we aimed to provide a solution for accepting Bitcoin nonetheless.
Ideally, merchants, following the guidance of @Darthcoins, would utilize LNBits,
  1. is "DarthCoin", without "s". The darthcoin is only one and is only mine (it can't be given to somebody else), pure scarcity. And is made of a very rare material that exist only on Darth's planet, Mustafar.
  2. I am not paid or working for LNbits. I do not recommend to merchants to use ONLY LNbits. I wrote guides about LNbits because nobody did it and is open source.
  3. I only want more merchants to use Bitcoin. And I would like you to have success with your POS solution. More bitcoin merchants = better for Bitcoin.

I just wanted to express that the open-source variant and managing one's own node are undoubtedly optimal in an ideal world. Thank you for your kind words!
I thought you use Beskar. May the Force be with you.

Just to clarify, the POS-Terminal accepts payments both online and offline (+ pin) through a QR code and additionally features NFC functionality.

Thank you!
The entire team has been actively engaging with merchants and potential partners for quite some time now. We've opted not to go for a pre-sale, consciously avoiding the sale of products that aren't readily available.
FYI - We're also on the lookout for partners (Europe for now) interested in onboarding merchants in their localities, earning a sustainable commission on transaction revenues. If you're interested, feel free to shoot us an email at partnerships@opago-pay.com.
