Gonna do a hamam today while waiting for the noise to go away - anyone want to learn how to hamam like a pro? 🤓
It makes your skin like babies after each visit! Because the lady or gent who works in the bathhouse will scrub your whole body with a kese to peel out your dead skin ( the kese is like sand paper ) a bit hurt but acceptable, then with a deep massage, aw so good, pain then heaven!
And then, depending on the location, some hamams even with healing water! I had some skin problems due to food allergenic this summer, but I didn't do anything, only make sure I didn't eat the wrong food again and kept going to the hammam and drinking the water, and all is gone now - not sure how much it helped tho, as it could also due to the change of emotions because everything is connected.
One of the perks of living in Turkey is that I can go to Hamam anytime I want. I even went all my way to different villages to dig for the most natural soap and the most absorbent towel, and I even made my own bathrobe last month:) haha, don't underestimate the force of truth-seeking! and part of me want to do a long post like @davidw for Turkey, but damn, this beautiful land is too much for me to cover, maybe I would share it bit by bit as I explore more:)
Really want to understand more about Turkey. Chunk it up, if it’s easier. Starting with food and drink may be the easiest way to pull us in.
There’ll be stuff you wish you included and you’ll be editing for days if you’re as bonkers as me. Enjoy your scrub!

omg, the food and drink can go on for months to talk about! haha, like even small details serving water with coffee when guests coming, which one would they drink first tells different things:)! 😳

I bet. I love how most is eaten with the hands over there too.
It tells you a lot about a culture when you see manners and trust like that. Giving you more than asked for.
Like going to a restaurant and being served delicious fresh bread and sauces, before you’ve even ordered your drink. Pay it forward has an impact on our psyche.
