I would never humiliate my dog by making her wear clothing! I'm half kidding. I understand the smaller breeds my need protection in really cold climates, but I never owned one like that. How are things going? Do you get a break from classes for the holidays? Time to catch up on things?

Enjoy whatever down time you can. Re territories, I was really excited about them. Then I made that post of my daughter's gecko and realized what a mess would be made of the home sub. If you notice, I asked for a mute sub option in meta almost immediately! I'm torn. I have faith in Keyan and I think he's thought it through. Whatever form it ultimately takes should protect the experience of those only interested in talking about bitcoin. On the other hand, we're here to disrupt the status quo. Massive change is usually messy. Having weird territories all fueled and rewarded by bitcoin is exciting. Right now it's chaotic, but I imagine it gets sorted out. I for one got a lot of pleasure from the Stacker News of even a few months ago. It was a cozy space where I could share my thoughts with people I like. But, if bitcoin is going to tear down walls I can't expect my little space to stay the same.

This is the right attitude. It will sort itself out. A little disheartening to see so many tantrums about it. ~bitcoin is still there, just as before, for people who want only that.
It's always interesting to watch the latent forces in one community split it into several, like cellular mitosis. Get used to that, is my advice to the btc world.

The rancor is understandable. I know people on both sides value adoption as much as anything. That's the big picture here as I see it. I started a dog and cat territory. Don't get me wrong. I'm an animal lover. I love my pets, but I don't typically hang out in pet forums. People universally love their pets. If SN grows as I think it will, all the people who love posting cat photos will learn about bitcoin. A lot of people love cat photos.

It turns out we may have something better than a mute option- you may need to subscribe to individual territories.
