@ekzyis is there a difference between posting a image link from postimg or uploading it from my drive to SN repository?
Are we loading some SN server with those "garbage" images over and over? I am asking just to use images in a more proper way.... I don't want to push too much SN servers.

the difference is you're uploading it to an AWS server of ours, yes.

i would much rather prefer you push your "garbage" to our server(s) so we can hold on to them as long as possible so the theory behind the evergreen content on SN might actually work out one day :)
it's 2023, storage is not the problem.

roger that! I just wanted to be sure.

still have to look at median image fees so we can fine tune the moment we're going to hit people with fees (/cc @Natalia)

crazy idea... why not charge stackers that are posting a direct upload image instead of a 3rd party hosting?
just 1 sat for the beginning?
reply
with fees, i do mean only direct upload image
why not
UX reasons :)
"i think" there was a lot of discussion regarding this on Github "somewhere" ... you might find it if you're looking for it :)

I'm already paying for it hhaha, and still feel like a bit hassle uploading photos somehow, loading took time and would be nice if I could just drop them and upload:)

I tend to upload images on image hosting site when I'm on my laptop. I only use the upload feature when I'm on my phone. I know this doesn't answer your question but I just thought I should share how I use the upload feature.
reply
yeah make sense to upload directly when you do not have access to your "memes stash". Just keep in mind to remove the exif info if you post an image took with your phone. Just in case...
reply
yes, makes sense, don't trust us, but if you want to be lazy sometimes, you can review this code to make sure we're doing stripping of EXIF data right
i might actually be generous towards anyone who takes a look and proofs it :)
reply
I was just joking, you know that.

i do :)
but sometimes, i think i know things, and then i end up not actually knowing them, sooo ... not sure how to deal with this sometimes, guess it's just part of the human experience, lol :)
did i sound like i do not know that? lol
