There are so many free courses and material on the web that a motivated young person could probably skip any formal education entirely.
We don't get any education regarding Linux or programming or basically anything you need for a real serious job in university anyway - if that's what you mean with formal education and that's at least my experience. My former employer even told me that if someone has (very) good grades in university but nothing else to show, that's a very bad sign and their resume lands in the trash.
However, the theory that we do get in university is still quite valuable at times, ngl.
I'm curious to know whether most people on SN are using Linux, and whether bitcoin was the inspiration.

I barely remember writing this post. It seems like a long time ago. I still use the old laptop with Ubuntu once in a while.
