I am a maxi like Darth, but I have bad news for him....bitcoin is not going to proceed in ways that he approves of long-term.
One of the downsides of holding narrow and militant views of things is that future changes are far more likely to happen outside that strict approval window rather than within it.
Mainstream adoption must involve IOU-bitcoin to some degree, there is simply no way to onboard a billion people without it. There is not enough time available at 7 transactions / sec for there to be any other solution than "paper bitcoin".

AFAIK he hasn't disputed this, what did I miss?
This fact also doesn't mean we (maxis) should embrace every bullshit scam (federations) that makes false promises on how to mitigate trade-offs.

The alternative is holding popular and unprincipled views. Long term things evolve around the nuances of principle.

Its not "either / or".
You can be both principled and also acknowledge that things will likely change in negative ways that impact those principles over time.

I think we're at very a different understanding of the nature of principles
No one is denying the existence of entropy, but many things are constant, and to forget or dismiss those is to repeat the errs of history.

Ok shitcoiner.
speculating on @DarthCoin behalf here.

I'm not a shitcoiner, I'm not excited nor for IOU-Bitcoin....its just that I'm a realist and try to not engage in utopian thinking.
