No matter what I try, I can't sleep more than 5 1/2 hours. They say that's a symptom of age. An afternoon nap usually keeps me going.

what do you think is the reason? ๐Ÿง

I don't know, but when I awaken I feel good and ready to start the day. Early afternoon I start getting tired.

I don't like to take naps, I feel more tired after the nap ๐Ÿ˜‚
and how interesting!

I used to be able to sleep 10 hours straight. I think it's got to do with aging. It doesn't bother me. I sleep well and feel rested. My days are just much longer than everyone else in my family!

During the workweek, I'm lucky to get 6 hours of sleep, unfortunately :(
edit: Yes, the body needs good sleep to recover. The amount of sleep needed varies from person to person, and it seems to me that we need less sleep as we get older. I take advantage of the weekend to sleep and go out. I try not to look at computers or phones.

Do Older People Need Less Sleep? It is a common misconception that older adults require less sleep than younger individuals. Many older adults have a hard time getting the sleep they need, but that does not mean they need less sleep. In general, adults should aim to get at least seven hours of sleep each night.

could it be older adults tend to have more things that trouble the mind, so it is harder to sleep longer?
reply
They have more things physically going wrong. Getting up to go to the toilet disturbs your sleepโ€ฆ
