Key findings from this report from October 2023:
Government- 71% Americans are very or somewhat concerned about how Government uses their data, up from 64% in 2019.AI- 70% of Americans have little to no trust in companies using AI to make responsible decisions in their products.Autonomy- 78% say they trust themselves to make the right decisions to protect their personal information. But 61% believe nothing they do will make much difference.Privacy Policies- 56% say they always, almost always or often click “agree” without reading privacy policies.Passwords- 69% feel overwhelmed by the number of passwords they have to remember. 45% report feeling anxious about whether their passwords are strong and secure.Attacks- 34% of Americans have experienced data breaches / hacking / fraudulent charges to their knowledge.Social Media- 77% of Americans have little or no trust in leaders of social media companies to protect user privacy.Regulation- 78% of Democrats and 68% of Republicans think there should be more "government regulation" of what companies can do with customers’ personal information.Future & Children- 89% are concerned about social media sites knowing personal information about children.- Privacy is becoming MORE important to every American, not less, by the month.
If you have a business, ignore this trend at your peril...

So true. Unfortunately, I still don't think we have seen the last of 'on-device image scanning' either though as a sledgehammer 'solution'.
I guess people need to learn the difference between public and private:)!
