Writing is not hard, the real hard part is editing - the constant struggle with your own thoughts.
I usually do this in the mornings when I have a more clear mind.

Knowing what to include and what to cut is definitely a supertalent.
I often fail to remember that not everything that comes out our brains is articulate or relevant. 80/20 rule still applies.

forgot where I heard this but...for every hour of writing, 10 hours for editing!
i take that as more of a mental model than taking it painfully literally

"pain" indeed, with lots of thinking - thinking takes so much brain power, but then you feel so great after it's good to go into the wild!
