Still too high. Still an issue that needs to be addressed for Bitcoin to ever have a CHANCE at becoming a universally accepted payment method. Rarely anyone will pay any transaction fee to pay for everyday goods and services when they can do it for free with other platforms using standard currency or other cryptocurrencies. And don't tell me lightning solves the problem because it doesn't. There are still routing fees although incredibly insignificant but we all have experienced the horrid "payment in transition" issue at one point or another.
Good point but, respectfully base layer transactions are not suitable for everyday goods and services but rather to transfer BTC to cold storage self-custody or to transfer wealth across time 5-10years, opening LN channels that facilitate those small payments, to pay for much bigger purchases like a house, etc.
