pull down to refresh

The third and last Utah national park that we visited during our Spring 2023 road trip was Zion National Park. This place boasts beautiful red rocks forming straight cliff faces and large stone slabs.
We drove to the visitor center and took the free shuttle bus down into the Zion canyon. The road into the canyon was only accessible by shuttle bus when we visited, and private vehicles were not allowed to enter. We rode all the way to the very last stop (Temple of Sinawava) on the shuttle bus and were all captivated by the view the moment we got off the bus. Unfortunately, it was raining quite heavily during our visit, but the rain did not diminish the incredible beauty of Zion canyon.

We originally wanted to explore the Narrows, but saw a sign that said that the Narrows was closed due to high water and unsafe conditions. We still decide to take the Riverside Walk that leads to the Narrows and explore the different views of Zion canyon. During our walk on the Riverside Walk, we could see the Virgin River flowing and raging rapidly next to the trail.

We walked in the rain, stepped on mud, crossed puddles, and even walked past a section of trail next to a waterfall. After being soaked and cold, we completed our walk and took the shuttle bus back to the Zion Lodge for a hot drink and to warm up. I have to say, visiting Zion in pouring rain isn't the most pleasant experience, but I still like the views of Zion the most out of the three Utah national parks we visited.
