Elections can have consequences. With the election of the red-green liberal-socialist government in 2021, German voters have submitted to the strict dictates of the Davos climate agenda. This envisages a rapid decarbonization of the economy, the end of nuclear power as a special case for Germany, the end of the petrol engine in the automotive industry and the transformation of all modes of transport from individual transport to state solutions. Of course, this policy comes with economic costs, with an increase in energy costs first and foremost, which is now being felt by German industry, the heart of this society. It is now facing international framework conditions that are driving it out of the country. One could have the impression that other locations in Europe, such as Austria, which continues to purchase gas from Russia, have taken a step back to wait and see how this destructive policy affects Germany. You could say that Germany has taken itself out of the game and is now beginning the process of unwinding its society by politically encapsulating itself internally and further radicalizing itself externally as a representative of the WEF.
This philosophy is everywhere. I've pretty much given up arguing against it. The debate around man made climate change has been lost in Europe, EU and non EU. Manufacturing is being destroyed. The irony in the UK is that the same politicals who criticised Thatcher's closures of traditional working class occupations (mines, steelworks, docks etc) are finishing the job off for her in the name of being Green...!

Sometimes I wonder if I should be using ChatGPT more to just make comments out of courtesy. I'm mostly a passive reader however 😅

please never use Chat GPT or other applications when writing. you have to want to write, you have to read a lot and develop a passion for it, then it will be really interesting

It's always been shocking how much poorer Europe is than America, but it at least used to be similar.

You would be shocked at how the US is portrayed in Europe by the media and politicians. The big difference in living standards is of course ignored. Stereotyping is rife.

I doubt it. I have many international acquaintances, so I've probably heard most of it. Honestly, we probably live down to a lot of the stereotypes, which is all the more testament to the value of markets.
