Don't trust any politicians even if they're pro-Bitcoin
Alejandro Muyshondt, a former national security adviser to El Salvador's government, who had accused a congressman from the ruling New Ideas party of corruption and drug trafficking, died in state custody in unclear circumstances, his family told reporters.
Damn right
reply
Yeah, never really understood the appeal of authoritarian-style government to the libertarian fraction of Bitcoiners...
reply
This. The guy and his party wins elections, takes 59/60 seats (even Putin doesn’t have that) but bitcoiners remain blinded by “bitcoin accepted!”.
I guess it could be similar to what happened to European intellectuals who felt for leninism and communism en masse at the beginning of the 20th century, they sobered up quickly after spending some time in 🇷🇺, and receiving more news. This time it may take longer to realize, 🇸🇻 and 🇷🇺 is not a fair comparison.
reply
When people will understand this 👆 ? I don't give a shit about any politician, president, Bukele or Milei. I care ONLY about people using Bitcoin. All the rest is just noise.

These unexplained deaths do not stop whistle blowers. If anything, they make the whistle shriller.
reply
Don't trust any politicians, including Muyshondt as well?
reply
Yup. If you're involved in politics either you play the game and become corrupt or they push you aside. So don't trust, verify. Don't believe what they say but what they do. Muyshondt tried to expose corruption and died because of it.

Since 2022, the “world’s coolest dictator” has refused to speak out against the increasingly tyrannical moves of his Nicaraguan neighbor – such as jailing and deporting dissident Catholic priests. His administration is also accused of laundering millions of dollars for the socialist regime of Nicolas Maduro.
reply
Why should he speak out about the internal affairs of another country ?
reply
The other face of Bukele is showing now.

Crime is down exponentially in El Salvador.
Arrest and incarcerate MS 13 and other ruthless thugs.
reply
So I guess Muyshondt was considered a "ruthless thug" by the government as well...
reply
"Alejandro Muyshondt was arrested last August for alleged crimes that President Nayib Bukele listed on X, including leaking documents to journalists and former leftist President Mauricio Funes, who is now based in Nicaragua."
