With understanding the how and the why of proof-of-work I can intuitively say why Proof of Stake is a bad idea. That said I haven't really found good resources or evaluation of Proof of Stake.
What are the best resources and arguments against/for Proof of Stake?
from what i recall:
  • you could lend money to control the chain.
  • you need to have the stake online to prove.
  • single point of failure while in pow you need silicon and power.
  • calculation wo can mine the next block has issues.

The one model that I think is useful for evaluating the trust required is
Where would proof-of-stake fall in there? Is there difference between different implementations?

"value" to stake needs to always be ootstrapped from somewhere else ?
