Many people are fooled by intelligent people not realizing this.

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

~ Proverbs 16:18

Smart people can be wrong for MANY reasons. There is NO replacement for one thinking for one's self. We all need to stay humble. Some of us need to get humbled. Bitcoin will do both :)

Maybe I should have resisted. I hope I didn't throw the Karmic boomerang.

Nah. You aren't punching down

Good point.

What caused him to change 180? Material for a new book?

I am guessing he was motivated by media attention

July 2021 was part of a bearish period between March and November that year

People may think I'm nuts but I believe it was a personality clash with Saifedean Ammous. They are from the same country, both wealthy, privileged, pseudo intellectuals with gigantic egos.

reply

I agree. It’s petty and personal.

I forgot they were from the same country.

It’s like an episode of curb your enthusiasm

And they have too much free time to escalate personal attacks into a public pissing contest.

What happened to staying humble?

Poor guy hey don't you watch/read too much infotainment? hehe... be careful ;)

Yes I do. There's a lot of down time when you're semi retired.

These changes in someone's stance for anything are nothing more than a publicity stunt. While changing your stance to positivity may gain you some favour, and going otherwise will make you targeted, but all this gets you an instant public attention. Isn't it?

How much did they pay him?

The man must have nightmares every night. At least he knows Bitcoin isn't good for money laundering.

What strikes me so funny about this comment is that Taleb fans sound like cult followers in my experience.

reply

What really caught my eye wasn't that, it was the footnote.

Nassim Taleb said crypto was less trustworthy than the Mafia

He might have been referring to altcoins.

reply

He may be but I don't think he separates bitcoin from crypto. Maybe he's referring to cryptography lol.

I can't overstate how disappointed I was in this man based on the friends of mine that think he's a genius. I'm not disappointed that he isn't a bitcoiner. I'm disappointed at how weak his reasons seem to be. It is very obvious his issues are more personal and ego related than logical. Covid mania broke him.
