I use an old netbook with MiniOS running on a microSD card.
(Trying solo mining just for fun)
Nice try Fed!

Damn. I take a break for lunch... That was a good one, too.

Lol. You missed the ai storm in a tea cup as well…

Where? In the saloon?

You didn’t see it? In books-and-articles.
reply
No. I've got a lot going on today.
I just saw it. I'm glad you're catching these things. Maybe @kr was right about jacking up posting fees. I just don't want them to get prohibitive.

You shouldn’t have to monitor every post - that would be ridiculous. Hope yesterday went as well as could be expected for your friend. I was thinking about putting a deposit down with every post. Downzap x 5 and you lose the deposit…

Not bad. Last night was horrible. It's kind of a long story, but really a disaster.

Phoenix as a hot wallet for spending, geographically distributed multisig with regular check-ins for ultra cold storage and a HW in a singlesig setup as a layer between both.
Basically as described by @DarthCoin here.

Looking at the screen it looks like its connected to Wifi.
Is this supposed to be your airgapped laptop?

Haha good observation

Yes. The Wifi connection was used when I set it up for solo mining (just to see if the laptop would die). Currently, the MiniOS system is not connected to Wifi, the generated wallet was created offline using BIP-39.

I'm beguiled by your diagram and would like to know more. Can you describe your standard send and receive workflow? What software? (Assuming Core on each PC?) Is PC2 not connected to the internet?
reply
you are right

How does the 2nd PC keep a full node whilst staying offline? Just RPC to share block data?
reply
PC2 is disconnected from the internet but communicates with PC1. This means that the only visible peer for PC2 is PC1. PC2 is a cold wallet.
in pc2 bitcoin.conf file
# Connect only to the specified node(s); can be set multiple times. Set to 0 to disable automatic connections. connect=192.168.xxx.xxx:port

What bitcoin?

I have adopted to some very unsafe custodians (as they say). I have put a small amount on Nexo.

Edit: This image was taken when I used the laptop for solo mining, it appears connected to Wifi.
The MiniOS runs offline just like the iancooleman tool I used to generate the BIP39 address. i kept the MicroSD Card in a "toolbox".
