There's a devil-spawned weed in my backyard. I pull it out, try to find the taproot, pull it too, but it's vexing. At each joint it roots. Despite my plucking, it always returns. Today, it occurred to me it's a distributed network with no central point of failure. It's unstoppable.
Love the metaphor (even if I'd rather not think of BTC as a weed), but as someone fighting the good fight against black swallowwort every day, I also feel your pain here.

I will say this: a weed doesn't think of itself as a weed. That's just a word we humans put on certain plants. Stop the weedism! 😄

True! I think of dandelions as the classic example. So useful and also pretty, but they're considered a "weed" because they're not generally planted.
