I just read that NY Attorney General Tiesha James has begun to search for Trump bank accounts, with the ultimate goal of seizing those assets. Trump has a knack for making everything about him, so maybe this will be the ultimate MAGA orange pill moment, having even more of an impact than the Canadian truckers strike? We'll see.

I think it's slowly getting there

I have heard it said, its all good for Bitcoin. That would be a pretty cool way for it to play out.
reply
That's a nice thought.
Since all of his properties are co-onwned, what do you think the regime will actually be able to do here?
reply
As you point out, it's complicated. The message can be simplified, though. Be your own bank! The reality is that joint ownership will prevent even a freeze, though it will be on a case by case basis.
reply
FUCK'EM'ALL Bitcoin is for sovereign individuals not for stupid followers.
Please keep in mind my warning. You will remember it, soon.
reply
I think Bitcoin will be for everyone eventually.
reply
If you are so convinced, why don't you start with these ones?
reply
Nah. I hang out with cool people. Never met them.
reply
Would you give them some sats?
reply
Don't know them. That's a picture. I am just making the point, maybe it's not best use of energy to call people stupid and be angry at the "stupid" people, making memes to laugh at them, etc. Does it help anything do you think? I'm open to the fact that it may be helpful. I just don't see.
reply
They deserve to be memed
reply
Maybe that's the way. Do you feel like you have helped move people in a good direction that way?
I just don't see Trump as capable of making the leap here. He's always been obsessed with fiat and has built his rep on embracing it (disclaimer: A relative of mine worked for him in the '80s and has given me some insight I probably shouldn't have). He's also obstinate, not the brightest guy, and looks to be fading a lot mentally right now. I can only really see him embracing BTC in a very fiat-forward way, investing via KYC methods and ETFs and if he accepts BTC donations, openly talking about them and bragging in way that makes his assets vulnerable.
(That said, I could see someone in his orbit using this as a good opportunity to step up some orange pilling.)
reply
Should be a wake up call to everyone regardless of political affiliation. They can take your shit.
reply
Very true. Nothing focuses your attention like having your own shit directly threatened.
reply
That would never happen to me. Until it does.
reply
I don't think it's more powerful than the truckers' strike, I think it's more powerful when it comes to the lives of ordinary people. Humans tend to look more at their fellow human beings.
reply
Who knows which will have the biggest impact? Maybe the Trump asset seizure will go nowhere if he posts the bond. The important thing in both cases, I think, is the realization that if they could do it to them (truckers and Trump) they can do it to you.
reply
I made a donation to the truckers in Canada 🇨🇦 using lightning
reply
Me too

Canadians who lost their bank accounts were definitely orange pilled.
People who lived under a socialist regime understand best the dangers of central planning.
Folks in Argentina 🇦🇷 understand the dangers of a central bank better than everyone.
The best teacher is experience.
reply
Only time will tell for sure.
The important thing in both cases, I think, is the realization that if they could do it to them (truckers and Trump) they can do it to you.
That's the message we can take from both cases. Every misstep they take, is an eye opener for others.

He announced that if he is Pres then there will be no CBDC mandates, or maybe no CBDC at all. I think in a lot of ways MAGAs have a head start on people regarding control over their money, so Bitcoin will come naturally for them, and that's good for everyone.
reply
Interestingly, he mentioned CBDC right after having dinner with Vivek Ramaswamy who was also anti CBDC.
Its funny to think that Vivek probably told Trump about it and suggested to oppose it, and the next day Trump drops it in a speech and looks visibly surprised that the crowd cheers and goes "oh, you guys know about this?"
reply
It might because more powerdul because of the message sent. Imagine how much news coverage will happen over this. Eventually Trump can tell everyone how the fake news slandered him.
reply
I'm not sure. MAGA seems more intent on abusing the political system than opting out of it. Besides, MAGA support of Bitcoin might not help our public image either, so idk that I want it quite yet
reply
What do you mean by abusing the political system?
reply
yea we don't need more partisan divide in bitcoin politics than we already have
reply
I’m surprised by the number of left wing stackers.
It’s one thing to hate conservatives. It’s another thing to support the actions of Letitia James
reply
Trump won’t be orange pilled but he won’t impose a 30 percent energy excise tax on miners
reply
No, he’ll impose that to pay his own jets and debts, he’s old and stupid
reply
Sounds plausible

Few years ago, the state levied or took money from his bank account for not paying renewal registration fees for his motorcycle. I thought that was crazy but apparently such a statute exists in California.
I have another friend who didn’t file or pay taxes for five years. Now he has IRS lien on his house and other assets. No levy yet.
The NY civil case against Trump has been insane and unprecedented from day one. Asset seizure seems excessive especially before the case has been appealed.
Why not fine Trump one trillion dollars to force him to declare bankruptcy?
No crime has been committed. New York is the plaintiff in a kangaroo civil trial.
reply
Why not start a factory of Orange Pill and distribute it to everyone for 1 Satoshi. However to MAGAs, let it be priced much higher. 😂
I believe that this is actually the best time to orange pill Trump. Once he becomes pres again, it will again be all the same narrative and his love for dollar is not hidden either. But with Donald 'Jenius' Trump, you never know.
