Thanks for a great post. I'm kind of in a "road not traveled" situation, since being a nomad and having a family are a tough combo, but I love hearing about people who are able to live this lifestyle. I also appreciate you noting the downsides; not every lifestyle works for everyone, and nothing is perfect (and I'm wired to distrust anyone who sells something as utopian).
One of the things I liked the most during the exploration was meeting interesting people, so I am trying another approach now: meeting more self-driven and creative thinkers via the Internet!
As an older internet user, this was one of the joys of the early days (when usenet and listservs were "social media"), and I'm glad it's still something that modern communities from github to SN are making available.
Stay tuned for how @Natalia manages to rock and roll after starting a family. 👀
But I met some nomad families before, they also have a base and travel from time to time.

"Family" is a heavy word. Great responsibilities comes with a family and your "rebel" energy will be quite slowed down after you start a family.
