We are witnessing the repeated intellectual fallacy of politics. On Saturday, the House of Representatives in the United States decided to authorize the government to expropriate Russian assets held in American banks and make them available as aid to Ukraine to the tune of 6 billion dollars. This is the next blow to the dollar as the world's reserve currency. The fact that politicians can no longer see the consequences of these actions is a clear indication of who we are dealing with here. The flight from the dollar system is likely to accelerate further.

Take money from bad people and give to good people.
Take money from enemies and give to friends.
Take money thats not theirs and give it away.
This sounds like the federal government!

I cannot believe this is simple stupidity. There must be a plan, but I doubt it's a good one. Maybe pay down debt with the help of the depreciating dollar, then find a replacement for oil and create a new petro dollar?

No, I think this is simply the way empires die.
At first the rules are just 'tweaked' slightly in favor of the ruling class, and as they keep getting away without consequence, they become more and more extreme.

As much as current news pains me, it also makes me incredibly happy that bitcoin exist.
I was "awake" in 2008 and those were frankly much darker days. Although we didn't use the term "CBDC" back then, it was widely assumed their only answer was to institute some sort of global fiat currency.
At that time, we had no escape hatch to deal with this except for the crude use of gold/silver (which I was a stacker). The arrival of bitcoin has truly given us an alternate plan.

There is a plan to replace oil but the plan is utopian
If we can make oil obsolete what would happen to Russia and OPEC members lol

How skewed. The fall of the dollar, huh?
Rules fall away in war.
While most countries aren't directly engaged with this war... look at how many countries are supporting Ukraine and/or preparing for war themselves!
Control the money, control the war machine. Always has been. This is not news.
