Paul Johnson – Get Get Down

I remember this getting released. It was such a summer track. Something that just lifts your mood and puts a spring in your step. Great one for Feel Good Friday 👊
reply
I haven't heard this in years! I don't even know how I remembered it.
reply
I think I last heard it in like 2000 or something like that. It was everywhere but I must admit, I've not thought about it in over 20 years 😂😂

All Summer Long - Kid Rock
reply
Great track, love it This is a fusion of Sweet Home Alabama and Warren Zevons - Werewolves of London
reply
I definitely hear the Sweet Home Alabama in there! I've heard Werewolves of London before but I can't remember how it sounds. I'll have to give it a listen and pick it out!
reply
Have always loved this one. I listened to a lot of Kid growing up. Still like a few of his songs, sometimes.
reply
I have a lot of his albums, he's got some great songs out. Similarly to you, I also used to listen a lot. During the time I listened it was a great fit!
reply
This track was a huge summer hit.
I always felt like kid rock had ripped off sweet home Alabama and werewolves of London. Until I started to understand, Especially with what the song is about, That it's kinda a homage to the importance of those songs to his life at that time.
Which I now think is a very clever mix of the two. Because he's singing about how much he enjoyed that time of his life and how those tracks remind him of those times, those tracks were important.
Not referencing those tracks in his story would be like singing about Britain in the 90s without even mentioning the Spice Girls 🤣
reply
I'm sure it was! Super catchy if you like the style. I definitely think it's a great homage, including both elements of the song as well as the atmosphere it was often played in.
I always liked his variety of styles, there's relatively few artists that have blended rap, rock, and country!
reply
He's done it really well aswell, blending those styles I mean. Found a really good mix of all of them.
reply
Finally Friday! Gotta put this up after my night.

Belting track even though it's about having a bad day. Reminds me of Matchbox 20 with Unwell That's a cracker of track as well
reply
Matchbox 20! Are we doing throwback Thursday again? 🤣🤣 Huge tune.
reply
Everyday's a throwback on my playlist 😂
reply
🤣 most of my playlists are throwing back to a time I wasn't even there for 🤣
reply
Matchbox 20 was one of my fave bands growing up in the 90's.
reply
😞 sorry to hear you've had a rough one last night. Hopefully feel good Friday can perk you right back up again with some uplifting and fantastic tracks.
Daniel powter has a great voice, bit of a one hit wonder, but it was a helluva hit. Huge tune and it was everywhere in the mid 2000s.
reply
Yeah, its nice to hear hits that are from the past.
reply
I'm coming over for some of that fried Bacon, Bro 💪
reply
Ya think BA will do a remastered or renewed version of this in the summer of 2069?? We're a lot closer to that than we are to 1969 🤣🤣
Here's bowling for soup doing the same track just because.
I'll get the kettle on for ya biz! Bacon Sarnie and a good brew, is there a better way to start your day?
reply
I'm not sure BA's got another 45 years left in him, but if he gets that far I bet his voice is still going to be on form. Good cover version, never heard it before, loved it, has a great Green Day vibe to it, 🤘 tremendous
reply
I'm convinced BA doesn't age, I swear he still looks great for his age. 😂

"Two miles an hour, can you picture me rolling? Cause' life is so much better when you live in slow motion"

Huge change of pace to the stuff I normally listen to.
Really mellow, just something you can chill out to.
Great recommendation 👊
reply
Very nice song, and the beats are great!

Bryan Adams and Tina Turner - It's Only Love

Let's rock it. One of the greatest collabs from two of the greatest performers. 🤘
reply
You're thinkin like me 😉
reply
Wow! I hadn't heard this before but this is two excellent musicians producing excellent music.
Tina was such a powerhouse vocalist, and her voice fits this style amazingly.
reply
i love JUSTICE and their new album is a fire!
reply
This is 🔥🔥🔥
It reminds me so much of Deadmau5. I'm going to need to hear more of this.

👊. It'll take a me a bit to get through all of it but that first track was great!

Sleater-Kinney's known for a lot of angst and anger in their songs, but they can also just have a lot of fun.
reply
I wanna go "hang with the girl band" they look like they're having a blast. I wanna party with them for an evening.
Great track stillstackin 👊
