Attach Zeus Embedded LND Node to Stacker.News

I'm reading more about Zeus' embedded node support, and simultaneously also exploring the connected wallet options on stacker news, in preparation for the platform moving away from custodial wallets.

I see I can connect LND here, in a receive-only mode.

However, I cannot find a way to access the required information from the embedded LND node within Zeus.

Should this work? Are there other wallet connectors I could use to connect the embedded LND node within Zeus to stacker news?

Side note: DarthCoin's guide on Zeus is very helpful, check it out!

Edit: I suppose you can configure the lightning address option for receiving, too, since Zeus also seems to offer that. So that's an option.

The pace of development for Zeus is mind-blowing, what I am hoping for next is using the Zeus node liquidity to connect LNBits. With that setup I can see all Zeus users becoming local banks and make LN unstoppable

I need to give Zeus a shot. I think I was upset it stopped being just a mobile interface, but that's silly.

At some point, I'm going to only have bitcoin/lightning wallets on my phone.

You will not need any LNbits account anymore. You will be able to create LN accounts from your own embedded Zeus node, for family and friends. As like in LNbits but this time you could offer your embedded node liquidity to others and they can use it in their Zeus.

ofc you will need to put your Zeus "bank" in persistent mode to keep the LND service alive. But with a nice tablet at home, setup a main Zeus with liquidity, you will be able to run several Zeus around connected to that one. Privately.

If you don’t run a node at home, your best bet is going to be a wallet that has NWC. Mutiny does and Alby does. If you pay for Mutiny they’ll give you a lightning address too. Alby gives you one as well. Zeus might have NWC but I don’t know.

In any case, without a home node NWC+a lightning address will give you both ways, send and receive. I wish there were more, better connection options but there aren’t. We were hoping to have zbd and strike connections via oath but we haven’t heard back from either.

LOL no ! Why would I go from non-KYC SN account to KYC account with them? SN is much better without them.

Those solutions aren't for nerds like us.

Some people already have accounts with them, and some people will never run a node or a non-custodial mobile wallet.

I consider myself a nerd but I don't run my own lightning node yet. I explored it a while ago but I started too early without knowing anything, so I shut it down and haven't tried again. It's on my list, but just haven't prioritized it yet.

Edit: I do use self-custody wallets like Phoenix, so I'm not a total n00b ;)

I, for one, know you're a nerd. :)

Running a node is a lot of fun, but it is nontrivial effort-wise and even I neglect my node. I recommend not making it too hard on yourself and using umbrel or start9. If you want to support their businesses, and make it even easier, consider buying their hardware too.

Self-hosting is also a rabbit hole that I think will get wider and wider over time. At least until we have better cryptography.

Maybe someone familiar with Zeus here could help. I’m trying to RBF an on chain transaction that’s connected to my node via Zeus and I get this or something different everytime. Anyone know what this means? I’ve had a transaction sitting in the mempool for 2 weeks that was initially set at 15 sats / vb.
