Tarja 😍😍 one of my favourite ladies in metal. She's got such gorgeous vocals.

Doro Pesch isn't someone I've come across before but she sounds great aswell. She's done really well to duet with such a powerhouse like tarja and not sound outclassed. I'm going to need to go and have a look at more of her stuff, she's great!

Both of these maidens of metal have a well deserved place in the Femmes Fatales Hall of Fame!

Also that guitar solo was 🔥 real simple but really effective with the song.

And here another excellent duo of Doro with Udo, with a nice version of "Breaking the law" accompanied by the orchestra.

Everything sounds good with an orchestra.

She's got fantastic vocals. She sounds great! Cheers for the recommendation Darth! I really like her. I really liked it in a stripped back acoustic feel. And then bam here comes the orchestra and the energy! Awesome version. 🔥

@Public_N_M_E maybe don't listen till you are fully awake if you are having a chilled sunday morning!

reply

I'm up now, had coffee and bounced around a little to this. Great energy 😁

reply

I have just finished my second coffee! Been listening to stuff like this with my headphones in all morning! Have a great day!

reply

You too Annie, I'm off out to see some family today, possibly have a BBQ. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, the bacon is sizzling. Hopefully we get to fire up the BBQ if the weather holds out!

reply

The weather will hold! I am off out with the kids today - going to have some fun at a local festival that's being held :)

reply

Oooo that sounds fun, I still haven't got myself sorted out for the festivals I want to attend this year. There's more festivals than I have funds or time to attend 🤣

reply

That was 🔥 great track.

If you can't find the post it's pinned to the home page of the ~Music Territory every day, along with the latest weekly aswell. (Feel good Fridays still up).

reply

yay! I will make sure to look there😁 glad you enjoyed the track!

Happy Sunday stackers!

Steve Wright was onto something with his Sunday Love Songs. It's just a chill easy way to wake up on a Sunday morning.

So here's Richard Marx - Right here waiting.

I love this song and haven't heard it in a long time!

It's such a gorgeous song. Just popped into my head this morning and I thought, this has to be my daily track it's such a great song.

reply

Man, I loved those first two albums of his. He could shift from gentle ballads like this to some bangers.

I don't think you meant to post a recursive link to this post?

reply

A place where we Talk Music. Share Tracks. Zap Sats.

Didn't you read it properly? 😜

Also, I'm growing up, now almost in mid 40s consistently losing interest and drive for music.

Is it true with others or is it me only?

reply

I read it so properly that I went into source and found the link you'd meant to post. :-)

And I'm in my mid-50s, and very aware of the tendency to lost interest in new music, but both my wife and I have made a concerted effort to pay attention to new stuff, and I find that I'm listening to tons of great bands these days that weren't around even a few years ago. But it does take effort, for the reasons the article notes.

One thing not mentioned in the article or other similar ones is that music, more than other media, is one we repeat. We might re-read a few books, re-watch some movies and tv shows two or three times, but we'll play a song we like dozens and hundreds of times. So the more new music we add to our internal queue, the less any one song gets replayed.

Bonus: This Hard Times piece.

reply

Thanks for the detailed response and I to get your opinion.

I and my wife have dissimilar taste for music. We can never listen to the same music sitting on the same couch. Like, I'm a lover of Imagine dragons but she loves Retros.

Because, music is what I deeply love, I want to stay connected. Why not we start a 'top songs of the week' or 'Latest Releases' or 'the best song in 10 years'? What do you say?

reply

There's so many different "themed" posts we could do for sure. I love the idea of "Latest releases" I love discovering new music. "Top songs of the week" sounds great! As does "best in 10" these would make great additions to the growing weekly posts. But I sadly don't have the time to do them all. If you're interested in doing them, I fully back that idea. 0x and Bellzer already have bought great ideas in weekly posts to the territory and I'm all for it.

Hey, @Public_N_M_E please tell me that the battery in this amazing JP piece is not amazing, especially from min 2:00, damn... is like a machine gun.

Priest never miss. That intro is pretty epic and just makes you immediately throw those horns up 🤘.

I hear what you're saying, it's really clever the little details they've used to create that sound in the percussion, it's subtle but it's really effective.

The guitar solo at 3:00~ is 🔥🔥 awesome solo. I always love a bit of tapping.

This is a complete throwback! This was played on Kerrang loads in the 2000s. I haven't heard this song since about then. That's a proper blast from the past.

I've liked some T-Pain songs over the years, and I always enjoyed both this song and the Etta James song the tune is taken from, so I was happy to see this cover come out! He has a great voice for soul music.

reply

Did you hear him do War pigs??

I was really surprised by just how good a singer he is!!

reply

Oh yeah, that's a good one too! He's a very talented person.

reply

Okay, let's continue with Richard Marx. Well, a song he wrote, played keyboard on, and produced for the band Vixen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQOmDUnt8Hs&t=1s

Wow that's a deep dive.
That guitar solo is 🔥🔥🔥
That music video is so 80s I love it.

Where are these guys from his accent sounds maybe french? But I can't place it 🤔. I'm going to guess French because I think that's Tina S??? I remember her starting out playing covers on YouTube.

This was a really great find! That's going into the "liked" songs playlist for sure.

reply

yes. it's Tina S!

reply

The playlist I have this track in is called TRIBAL
I don't know a better word to describe this type of genre / feeling

I get what you're saying by calling it tribal. It's like if tribal music added electro elements. Really cool.

I got introduced to infected mushroom with some of their covers. Their version of Foo Fighters - The Pretender is really cool.
