"Stone Cold" or "the Wolfpack"
Anyone who was into late 90s, early 2000s wrestling will recognize these names from WWE and WCW. I think they are perfect fits to describe a couple phenomena in current NBA playoffs.
"Stone Cold" is the perfect moniker for Knicks guard, Jalen Brunson, who last night became only the fourth player ever to have 40 or more points in 4 straight playoff games. Not only is he scoring at a high level, he is taking over games when they are on the line in the fourth quarter. Hence the "stone cold" nickname.
"The Wolf Pack" of course is the Minnesota Timberwolves on the defensive side of the ball. Man oh man are they giving the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets fits. At halftime yesterday Charles Barkley said "they are one of the best defensive teams I have ever seen".
I am not sure either of these phenomena can keep this up all playoffs but it is sure fun to watch.
So, who do you like to carry this play forward Stone Cold Brunson or the Wolfpack Wolves D?
It's the playoffs so anything can happen. Maybe someone will do a run-in and end their title runs.
Sats for all,
