Listening to a volunteer from the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore share about his takeaways. He reflected that these disabled people take genuine delight in the simplest things in life, like playing with bubbles, giving a high 5, etc. Reminds me of parenting n makes me wanna hold on to all the small pleasures my son takes delight in

My biggest purchase mistake in the past 3 months might have been to save money by purchasing a 1m USB-C cable to recharge my laptop and not 2m. I was in a hurry and didn't think it through.
After all the hassle with it, I am going to buy the longest USB-C cable that I can find.

I've been thinking about the saying: "Socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor" While I agree with what it's meant to convey (which is, essentially the Cantillon effect), I can't get over the fact that it portrays socialism as the "good" system. What's a better way to say it?
reply
"Socialized losses, privatized gains" is a better description, but it's not of exactly the same thing.
reply
"Bailouts for the rich, bail-ins for the poor" ?
reply
That's really good, but most people probably haven't heard of bail-ins.
reply
Hah, yeah... I hope they never will.

They're actually talking about Sats on Timcast IRL:
They've been talking about Bitcoin more and more lately.

He doesn't understand that with software, you can always go smaller in terms of the smallest denomination, and it is very easy to do. When I open RTL on my routing node, it already shows routing fees in mSats (0.001 sat). If NGU goes too high to make the sat too valuable for small transactions, we can always add more zeroes after the decimal point.
reply
I also don't think we're particularly close to that being a problem. Sat-cent parity is in play for the near future, but that's completely manageable without going to those smaller units.
The first step is getting these independent media people talking about Bitcoin. The next step is getting them to talk about it intelligently.

Geoengineering broke the mainstream news in the UK recently. However as usual they obfuscated the issue by trying to normalise it and distract from the more insidious side to it which is the consistent spraying of the stratosphere - ‘aerosol injections’ which create cloud cover and essentially block the sun. 🙄

Ward

A ward is a jurisdiction where the people, who have consented to be within said jurisdiction, have given up their power of attorney and are now considered “minors” without capacity or responsibility to make their own decisions, so said decisions have to be made for them.
For example: within the electoral system, a ward is a “local authority” operating inside a geographical area being offered for electoral purposes, such as voting.
However the unsuspecting voter is made to use a form that is not under their jurisdiction, but that of the local council, requiring them to mark an “X”, written in black ink, against the party they wish to vote for.
Marking an “X” in this way is the signature of a simpleton unable to make their own decisions, and who has agreed to hand over power of attorney to the state.
Note: It is people with no title to land, but who live on land owned by someone else who vote; if you own your land you “elect”, you do not “vote” on a selection.

Thanks mate! It's again a great learning. I'm kinda enjoying these words play. I'm a teacher of English in a non-native land. I share your teachings with my students on a regular basis and they throw at me so many questions which I think you only know the answers.
Even today, one of the students went on so far to ask for the need of 'teachers as authorities for knowledge'. He said, "Do we really need to adhere to 'Student Title'? I kinda had no clue but said that let me quess and changed the topic. Still thinking for a reply. Could you please guide/suggest something on it?
