https://www.stacks.co/ claims to be a smart contract blockchain that anchors itself to the bitcoin blockchain using something called "Proof-of-Transfer". Was curious to know what people here think about this project and has anyone accomplished any meaningful use case using it?

If they absolutely need a new token for the system to work, why not distribute the tokens based on the BTC UTXO set? Kinda like a hard fork, use BTC as the most fair distribution system.

I find all of their marketing talking points to be questionable. They should try this one: Stacks brings shitcoins to Bitcoin.

it's gonna be really difficult to compete against other blockchain, but personally I like how much is being pushed on there. Sometimes it does feel like bitcoin is not exploring outwards enough when satoshi envisioned so much more than what we have right now.

Bitcoin adjacent shitcoin. Wish they'd just stick to ethereum or whatever. Unfortunately, more are definitely on their way.

I don't like that a new currency/token is introduced. All projects should use Bitcoin and sats.
