So, in Singapore, we celebrate National Day (which is akin to Independence Day) every August 9. And every year, we have a song to rally us together. I like last year’s song.

That's awesome, what a great idea to rally everyone behind and bring together a community.

The Introduction - T-Pain & Young Ca$h

This one starts out with a little nod to Beastie Boys!
reply
Awesome! I got a lot of time for T Pain after hearing him do different genres. Him doing Black Sabbath - War pigs is great.
reply
He's certainly got some talent! I've heard that song and the others on the album, and they're good covers. I've got to say I'm not really familiar with Young Cash, but he does good on this album.

Been on an '80s metal kick recently, and Cinderella was always fun to listen to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCOrtJMQmVs
reply
Yeah really fun! Long time for me since listening to them. Great submission for today.

Been thinking about visiting some waterfalls. So, of course, I wake up with this song stuck in my head :D can't complain though. It's a great song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WEtxJ4-sh4&pp=ygUKd2F0ZXJmYWxscw%3D%3D

Tbh, I never cared very much about Waterfalls. But I went to listen to Creep and No Scrubs upon seeing your contribution haha.
Good luck with the trekking!
reply
Get out there Kontext go see it all and soak it in! This song is great, brilliant 90s track.
reply
I will! 🤠 Presumably I'll post some pics in either the Stacker Saloon or Photography territory as well, keep an eye out :)

I look forward to it! I may or may not (when I'm less busy). Post up a few pictures of Niagra Falls I got the other day. I love waterfalls, my wife and I enjoy hiking out to some and then taking a dip in the pools by falls and sometimes underneath the falls!!! Amazing experience.
reply
Ooh Niagara Falls! Boss!

In 2024 I started appreciating this banger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpUYjpKg9KY
The lyrics are 90% common place phrases, but it has some truth to it - besides the destructive message.
reply
I love this song and al aye enjoyed limp Bizkit.
If you want this song ramped up to be even heavier try this version by We're Wolves https://youtu.be/V4MTRjUIWxI?si=v6Yd927_1tIc8zKD
reply
the woodstock 99 version is on another level. The vocals are meh, but the energy really makes you wanna break stuff.
reply
really Red Hot that one with Eminem :)

Bathtub scene in the movie Unfaithful featuring this music turned me on to them. Remember it vividly.

Oooooo that's some great blues. Sounds fantastic.

I know this is newer, but sometimes I enjoy his songs. https://youtu.be/KYrurkKKeA0?si=49axSY1CL7nISZfU

That's really cool, I'm not too familiar with his stuff but so far I've enjoyed listening.
reply
Its really hit or miss with is songs. You either like them or dont. I wont say that I am an expert.
reply
I love the timbre of that singer and the girl on the backing vocals.
reply
🤘 let's go Jess! That's really cool and I agree the girl on the backing vocals is killing it.
