Power washing. Buy a machine for $200 or rent one for $30 a day. Post ads on local classifieds. Charge $100 an hour for the satisfying feeling of watching concrete clean up like new.

If you're looking to stack sats, offer them a 25% discount if they pay with BTC. Not everyone will take that offer, but they will at least ask you why.

This guy. "Just provide productive capacity to the economy and charge money for it". Yeah you're not wrong. Enter stage: The Era of Bitcoin Businesses

Most Bitcoiners are young men (based on conference attendance) and power washing is a great business for young men. Low barrier to entry and easy to scale with minimal regulation. It's hyper local which is perfect for growing a grassroots circular economy.

Mowing lawns as well. Yeah, and you know if you have a business that needs a little money, you can register as a corporation, pitch it to Bitcoiners to buy shares in your company and build something special together.

If you are willing to buy Bitcoin in your name and let them disappear into the void via coinjoin/mixing/llightning you can demand a 10% markup over spot and buy even more Bitcoin with that.
The market for this is huge in some places because nobody wants to be the person in whose name Bitcoin are bought and disappear. Where are you based?

Wouldn't this be considered running a unlicensed money transmitter business?

Depending on your countrythis would be grey or black market

I'd recommend against this sort of business in the US. Unless OP want to end up like the "Crypto Six": FBI Arrests 6 Free Keene Members Operating Cryptocurrency Exchange

That's even more of a reason to do it. Stand up for freedom, stand up for the underground movement. Don't bow to bullies. If scalpers get away with scalping, and people can sell stuff on craigslist all the time, even drug dealers become rich - why should op be criminalized for something as innocent as providing a service to which both parties agree? Imo that should be a trivial offense. Maybe tax fraud, more would be draconian.
reply
I'm not going to be a martyr for libertarianism or Bitcoin. The whole point of these movements is to achieve freedom, which I'm definitely not achieving if I'm rotting in Federal prison for decades.

I'm not arguing the ethics of running an unlicensed money transmitter. I'm 100% in agreement that this prosecution is unjust. I'm just arguing the reality of the situation -- "mess with the bull, get the horns."

I am interested. Brazil would that work?
I like timestamping Austrian Econ podcasts for the guys at Sphinx and Stakwork. They basically pay me in sats to learn a topic I want to learn anyway. It's part time at your own pace, 10$ in sats for 1 hour of podcast. Hit me up if you want to learn more or check the job post on stacker.news

I just focus on my job for now, but I have been repairing computers, I find that people are really looking to extend the life of their laptops instead of buying a new one and since I have the skills I can charge much less than a store to get it done. Very simple stuff swapping out ram, hard drives cleaning out boards, soldering, pretty easy to do and they're happy and I get the extra sats

I hadn't thought of it in this way before, but it should be as easy as routing the exhaust to your heating intake.

Play some games on ZEBEDEE, stack SATs listening in the fountain app. Use the fold card or Lolli App to get stats back for your everyday purchases. Seek unused items for cash and slowly build up
I also use the upside app for my gas purchases and cash out to buy some bitcoin at the end of every month.
Happy Stacking!!

You could work remotely for Bitcoin with Microlancer.io or sell things you don't need anymore (electronics, furniture, tools, etc.) in BitcoinP2PMarketplace.com or Bitejo.com. Some people buy second hand Pixel phones or Thinkpad laptops, flash them with Calyx/Graphene or Linux, and sell them for Bitcoin as privacy phones/laptops. Or you could start a blog (or write guest posts for an existing blog) and include a Bitcoin donation address.

I used to hire a lawn mowing guy earlier. I am doing it myself now to stack my sats. If you have time on the weekend, don't be lazy or don't waste your time watching TV. Get your lawn mower to do your lawn. Then, just pay yourself in bitcoin. :)
