I remember the Orioles had John Denver climb on the top of the dugout and sing Thank God I'm a Country Boy live during the 7th inning stretch. 

I believe Davey Johnson made the last out in the 69 series.

Earl Weaver lost another World Series in a seventh game 

I believe he lost twice to the pirates and once to the miracle Mets. 

But he is still my favorite manager. He was ahead of his time using statistics and money ball. 

Pitching, defense and three run homer. 

Don’t sacrifice and don’t steal bases. We have 27 precious outs. 

Davey Johnson played for earl weaver in Baltimore and managed like him.  Platooning was big with both. Stacking right handed hitters vs left handed pitcher was a common strategy.
