You probably wouldn't want to use it for mining for running a node long term, but it could be a good learning experience to set those up! Assuming you don't already have those things. Might be helpful if you want to do that more seriously in the future.
I have neither, but would like to get my feet wet with it. Any links of where to begin with what I need?

Umbrel is good / helpful for setting up a bitcoin and lightning nodes. Planning to use them later this year to set up a bitcoin node. https://umbrel.com
Not actually sure for bitcoin mining - I think mining pools have set up guides, but for educational purposes I'd want to try it independently anyway.
