Israel’s defenders act like Netanyahu and his allies have had no choice but to react to October 7 in the manner that they have. But that isn’t true.

Usually when I hold an opinion on an issue I try my best to see the other side's point of view. In this case, I can't. It's weird, because it's not often that I agree with left wing democrats and the ICC. It isn't even a close call IMO.

I would say that I have tried to see the other side's point of view. I've listened to Dave Rubin, Walter Block, and RFK Jr's arguments, as well as several different guests on TimCast.
The problem is that their arguments are all nonsense and it's clear that they're the ones who have never tried to see the other side's point of view.

I listened to RFK Jr on Dave Smith. Shocking how he clung to a ridiculous position.
reply
Yeah I was dismayed to learn of RFKs position.
And I don't usually agree with the left position but I do on this issue.

What is the purpose of ICC besides hating Israel?

Were those Hamas arrest warrants just brought to throw everybody off?

The ICC can’t indict the president of a country. It’s a dangerous precedent.
Remember when Pinochet was arrested in Spain? Was that ICC related?

Kind of a verbal false flag, if they are defending themselves then where’s the line? Thanks for sharing.

If someone robs my house and flees back to their home, it would not be self-defense for me to blow up their whole neighborhood.
Take it out of the euphemistic realm of war and put it in a more familiar domestic context. That should make the morality easier to assess.
reply
I completely agree. I was trying to express the same thing.

"War" is a weird magic word that somehow means none of our standards of justice apply anymore.
reply
True
On the other hand war between two nations or tribes cannot be adjudicated in a court of law like murder or theft
reply
I don’t attach any moral validity to statist constructs.
Calling it “collateral damage” doesn’t change the fact that it’s the same thing as mass murder.

They choose to commit crimes against humanity, it's part of their self-destructive mindset where they commit all sorts of injustices and when the pushback comes they act like victms. It's a pattern they repeat since the Roman Empire, maybe even before that.
