Donald Trump is seeking presidency again. He brands himself as pro-crypto and seeks crypto donations to aid him in his campaign.
His appearance could have prompted The White House and the SEC to work together. That’s why the eight ETH ETFs got approved - to show Americans that Donald Trump is not the only one who is vested in crypto.
Read this conspiracy theory somewhere online. Total bullshit or some elements of truth?
Could easily be true, but I don't think many Americans care about this at all, so it was more likely just a favor to donors.

Yes, I think the shifted stance on crypto was very politically motivated. It will be interesting to see the hoops they jump through now to ensure 50 other tokens don't get etfs. But I don't know how they will concoct a legal argument that eth is different than solana, or cardano, or dog money.

I don't think they can. Welcome to the next casino sponsored by Uncle Sam.

I think a few more will get approved but they won't have much demand so wall street and issuers likely get bored with them quickly. I don't think tradfi investors are clamouring for a bunch of crypto etfs. I could see maybe some demand for a crypto index fund that just holds all the crypto etfs in proportion. I think people are dumb enough to buy that.

It's all political strategy, with this ETH ETF thing they only seek to hunt for more votes, we'll see what happens next if Donald Trump becomes president.

Best of all is that 'Trumpy is a coin lover now. In his previous term, he said he liked cash.'
Now that elections are near and he has to maintain his worth, he is just behaving like all other politicians. 'Go against'. But he may not and he shouldn't establish an image as pro crypto rather he should mirror himself as pro Bitcoiner.

You have to appeal to your base, and the crypto crowd is growing and is up for grabs; many might even be single-issue voters, so trying to sway them to pledge alliance is worth selling out to a rug pull or two.
