Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.
Saddle on up to a stool and spill the beans about your day, fire away with them questions, or let loose and give us the lowdown on your wild and woolly life. We're all ears, so don't hold back!
We're open round the clock, so mosey on in whenever you please!
I had experimented with the carnivore diet a couple of years ago to shed ~10kg of lockdowns excess weight. It went very well, but I've gone a bit astray, the sugar, you know... but now I'm getting serious again. I'm in my third day now. These three filet steaks are going to be my brunch today, in a couple of hours.
The only non-carnivore addition is my ginger starter, a fermented ginger beverage. I have a tiny bit every morning on an empty stomach. Alternatively, I mix it with lemon juice for a few days before drinking it with sparkling water and ice, as a limonade. It's very easy to make and an excellent source of healthy gut bacteria. I wholeheartedly recommend you give it a try as well.

My day was hectic and stressful.
One highlight was I met this lady from Kazakhstan today, and halfway into the call I said "your from Kazakhstan, that's the country with the third largest amount of bitcoin miners" she said, "wow Paul I'm very impressed". It was a nice touch to the day - oh and from conversation I can tell she is a bitcoiner as well.
The quintessential evil of the education system is that it does not reward creativity, originality, leadership abilities, personal growth, or even something as basic as argumentation skills. Instead, it rewards conformity, compliance and regurgitation skills, first and foremost, and alas, this is what society looks like.
Hello slackers!
Its only tuesday but it feels like friday. I feel ragged lol

Stacker News feature pitch:
“Dynamite”
Enables a user to “blow up” their feed order, promotes randomization of delivered content, diminishes the potentiality for echo chambers.
Neat!
That made me think of a less dramatic option: mystery post. When you click on the mystery post, it opens a random post from Stacker News history.
We have a github issue for that. It's the only other sort that I think makes sense.
I see this, and I also wonder if a hyper-dramatic, legitimately random kill switch could benefit users and the site. Maybe a singular random “dynamite” post (@Undisciplined) could be a good test.
I agree with the idea that maybe it shouldn't weight "sub-standard" the same. Easy fix: use zaprank as a probability weight.

Oh man on vacation and loving the sauna. Need one at home! Anyone have one or have recommendations?
We had one growing up, but it was frequently broken. My dad built another one after I moved out.
If we ever finish our basement, the plan is to put in a sauna.
My goal too!

Day 142 of 100 push ups till $100k completed.
This week I stumbled upon a very wholesome and non-intrusive app to help manage anxiety and life in general.
It's called Finch [1], and it's basically a Tamagotchi [2] for those who used to have one as a kid. However, on Finch, to take care of your "digital pet" you also have to take care of yourself.
There are no annoying ads and despite having a paid plan (to support the devs), they don't try to shove it on you, and said plan only offers cosmetic changes, all the important features are free to use.
I'm not one to usually use those things, but as I was kind of down lately, I think I might be more sensible to this stuff. XD
Anyways, I hope it can help anyone who might need it. ;)

Dune Quote of the Day
from Children of Dune to clarify
Day two of my vacation with my wife in Minneapolis without the kids.
Enjoy
Why Minneapolis?
My wife is presenting at a conference so I tagged along! Great way to save some Fiat to buy more sats!
Good morning Stackers, 👋🤠
I would like to share my quote of the day... "if you don't touch it, it's not yours" by DragonOroPlata from YT. On his channel you find a lot of valuable information regarding hard money, Geopolitics, investment, or other quite interesting topics for the awake people of this community! The first time I heard his phrase, it was something that stuck with me and it is something that I constantly remind myself of, I even reformulated the phrase and made my own adaptation to the Bitcoiner mode, which I try to develop in my life. Now I usually quote "If you don't touch it or keep it, it's not yours." Obviously touching refers to the millennial yellow (XAU) and saving is aimed at being the custodian of your private keys (BTC)... I hope my words help you in some way, dear reader.
Keep stacking and stay in the Pagüer 💪🤠⚡
I think everyone loves a nice day off from the fiat mines but I'm ngl I hate that my week has been split right in half because of it.... its really effected scheduling meetings and getting projects wrapped up...
You’re still getting paid something that can be used to buy bitcoin, right??
True true! Just want to be able to cross somethings off my list!
Howdy fellas!! Tuesday has arrived and boy is it raining today, well deserved rain over here by the Mayan Riviera, hope everyone is having a glorious day, got to check your weekly strategies and see if they are working or need some tweaking, keep your focus on your goal and make sure you have everything you need to make it happen, one goal at a time to reap the rewards later for your hard work and effort, I wanted to thank you for your sacrifices, hard work and for not faltering, keep it up my friend, I'm proud of you. Let's keep the momentum going, may your day be successful and profitable. As always, be well and stay frosty!!

Last night I read about someone being robbed at home of their bitcoin recently and now things like this seem a bit silly.
How many have you read about being robbed by exchanges?
Quite a few, but at least in that scenario you don't have to worry about losing your own life or those of loved ones. The cartoon shows a loved one being handed over to an exchange, which is nearly the polar opposite of what you're actually risking there. I'm all for self-custody, but to not recognize the tradeoffs is asinine.
Home invasion robbery happens every day in the U.S. The fact that one was robbed at home for bitcoin is not a function of self-custody. It is a function of other security failures. Hell, your more likely to be robbed at home by someone who got your information through KYC information loss through an exchange getting hacked.
Fair point, but most people don't store their lifesavings at home though. So self-custody increases the harm of home invasion. Draconian KYC laws are a separate issue. You can still have someone custody something for you without them knowing all of your personal info. Many non-KYC custodians might be more secure than having all of your eggs in one basket, so-to-speak.
an interesting post about Bitcoin Capitalism shared by @EntropyBearer and mentioned about who would build the roads and more:)

give it a read if you haven't.
view on njump.meWhen hodling Bitcoin is probably the best or let's say, the safest option, you really think twice or more before doing anything with it ( aka spend ), which means it has to be something really worthwhile, then the interesting Q would be what ppl would do with their Bitcoin:)
And it's the total opposite in the fiat world, you are the loser if you don't do anything with your money.
How interesting!
I am not religious, but I am faithful.

Anyway, Lewis Carroll was a great writer (will introduce him to my kids soon), a cool mathematician, with a high level sense of humor. This is his self portrait titled “Me when I am lecturing” 😂

Btw, his parents were cousins.

Contract lawContract law
The “court” requires your consent to enter into contract with you, so the proceeding can go forth, as this is a “court of commerce” or “business”.
However, within contract law everything must be disclosed, including any payments or commissions from the court to any 3rd party within the court, or vice versa.
Any hidden 3rd party payments or “secret commissions” would be an “illegal contract”, and as this was conducted within a courtroom with witnesses, the people involved would be committing a crime, as the act would be unlawful.

Seems that interviewers like to ask about horoscopes and zodiac signs and spirit animals in my country nowadays:
https://m.stacker.news/35846
What’s your spirit animal?
Since I was born in the Year of the Monkey, I relate to monkeys as my spirit animal. Like the monkey, I am agile and enthusiastic as I often manage several projects enthusiastically, finding creative solutions and having fun at the same time. One Vice-principal even commented that my enthusiasm is infectious. Also, I can pull off a rather convincing portrayal of the Monkey God (Sun Wukong) during Chinese New Year!

Primarily for that reason, but also because I'm always ready to step up when needed.
