I haven't found an article about this yet. I just heard news reports. Here's one: https://www.golocalprov.com/politics/nyt-editorial-board-calls-on-biden-to-exit-race
In a highly unusual move, the editorial board of the New York Times published a Friday night editorial titled “To Serve His Country, President Biden Should Leave the Race.”
Apparently the fact that this Editorial was published on a Friday night is a big deal.

Not surprised. It is interesting to see how the media works in concert. I was last night but not surprised to see this today. I thought as soon as the CNN/NBC people were actually being honest about the performance the knives were coming out.
The only people I see sugar coating are the ones that can't appear to be down on Biden.
reply
Yes, like Chris Coons and Obama. And Fetterman, who reminds me of Lennie in Of Mice And Men. I'm surprised about Obama, but not Coons. He came out of the Delaware machine, and must stay loyal to the Biden Family capos.
reply
One by one the knives come out.

From a purely practical stance, Biden's team absolutely has to deny he's stepping down or even considering it literally until he announces it (since the second he says he's even considering it, he has to drop out). I'm not taking the denials as meaningful.
reply
They are going to swap him out in September/October with Newsom. I just can't believe it has gotten this far to begin with!

In my opinion, a person of that age who has repeatedly been caught on camera in situations where he is left wandering or lost in space... should not run or continue in a political career... and go to rest and give opportunity to another..
reply
This doesn't make NYT disloyal to Democratic party but to only Biden and correctly so because that's what they are told to do for Biden is definitely going sidelines and Newson will be the candidate.
reply
Everyone thinks about their benefit. And by making some changes they come into limelight, that is why such decisions are taken.
reply
I dont know man. The media can be throwing curve balls. Did the NYT ever support Biden?
reply
Sure. NYT only supports democrats.
reply
1956 NYT endorsed Eisenhower
reply
The exception proves the rule.
reply
So maybe they are correct in this case. He didnt do so well in debate, not that trump really did much better.
reply
What a humiliating carnival for everyone involved.
reply
Yes. It shows how inept the american people are, too. To let those two run for office.
reply
No one challenged Biden except for RFK and Dean Phillips
The Democrats tried to cancel primary season
reply
I do like this RFK guy.
reply
We are pretty damn inept.
reply
Yeah, lately things havent been going well for our political system.
reply
That’s a naive question
reply
Why is it naive?
reply
It’s not naive
It’s dumb and ignorant unless you live in a cave
reply
Maybe I dont follow the NYT? Nor do I care about anything they say.
reply
I don’t read NYT either and I also know they have not endorsed a Republican in my lifetime.
reply
Don't they prewrite multiple versions of (most of) this stuff and then update and release the version that matches the outcome?
reply
I can confidently say no. This is a very unusual stance for the New York Times. In fact, it's never happened before. The NYT very rarely will turn disloyal to a democratic party politician.
reply
I think they probably do it only for the most important stuff, which this might be.
This reminded me of In Event of Moon Disaster
