Goldman suggested that the Republic is safe because it is safely in the hands of people around Biden. It is an argument that flips the 25th Amendment on its head and embraces the idea of a figurehead president.

Been waiting for more people to come out and say this.
The technocratic state. Cough, I mean democracy.
I swear, its like these people will only speak the truth when all other options are gone. The whole system we are taught in school is a farce and there are plenty of people like this guy that probably know that but they go along with the shared lie we are all taught.
The silver lining of all this is that I think more people will begin to see the false nature of the world we are shown and begin to see the truth through the cracks.

You see this same thing with the Chevron decision. People angry that legislators should be forced to define the scope of the executive branch actions. Its rather absurd for the same people to claim they value democracy.
reply
That's the most important point that no one seems to even notice.

I mean this kind of stuff is what led me to disassociate with both parties. Both really only care about power and really lack any guiding principles. The ones they claim to hold they contradict if it means they get their way. Its a naked desire for power over others.
You see this with the over-turning of Roe. Abortion goes back to the states which each make their own laws. States can go either way. Those that disagree with the policy can vote with their feet.
But what do we see from both sides. Its not enough. There are conservatives that want to pass a nationwide ban and their opposition want to pass a nationwide approval.
I'm only using abortion as an example here. One could use MANY other things.

So, the people of America can sleep peacefully now because the country is in th safe hands! What if all those people safeguarding America don't have hands at all? Aren't they all tied by Bidenomics these days?

It raises another question: If it just has to be anyone but Trump, why does it have to be this particular man with dementia?
reply
Easy to control?
I mean the truth is that even Trump didn't have the kind of power they claim he had. He was met with opposition. The system is complex and there are many people in it with their own agendas. I've said it before but the "deep state" sounds all spooky but when you think about it... its only logical and how any large system would work. Over time you will have factions that have their own agendas that do not change from administration. Its like when a company gets a new CEO. They cannot control everyone. They can fire them or threaten them but the larger the org is, the harder it is for the leadership to control. The US gov is massive and really at this point is a complex monster.
reply
Easy to control?
Well, yeah. I meant that it raises a question for the people pushing this line of reasoning on the public. I don't think the official rationale can be that the elected president should be braindead, because then he can't exert any influence.

Physical problems are natural and don't necessarily mean that someone will make bad decisions. However, dementia or other types of mental health issues may not be compatible with this position.
reply
He's indeed a figurehead president!

Quote from the NYT(!) today:
He reportedly told the governors that “it’s just my brain.”
reply
No way!
You know what. That reminds me of the story Biden used to tell about when he had brain surgery. I am kinda surprised I don't hear about this. The clip of him talking about this has been played on No Agenda several times. He describes them taking the top of his head off. Its a pretty comical story. I would expect Trump and his promoters to mention this but I have never heard it come up.
reply
All new reports are suggesting that he should step down from the race but Biden thinking that he's still got it!
reply
Great. I think the US should get rid of the Presidential position altogether and simply go to a figurehead. I nominate the great Bald Eagle. Might make a mess in the oval office but can't be worse than Biden at press conferences.
reply
I knew someone would say something about this. The only problem is that you dont know who the people are around Biden. When you elect a president, you elect the persons which ideals match yours the most. The people around Biden are pushing their own agenda, and you dont even know what it is.
reply
It's no secret that the true power often lies not with the president, but with those who surround them. This is the case in most countries.

If you see last Davos meetings they clearly suggested they don't like someone like Trump as next president of the U.S.

They opposed his candidacy in 2016. Trump is anti globalist populist, the opposite of a Davos
