I don’t think that was me. At least I don’t recall using the word tyrant recently or recall “wanting” something like a “tyrant” to rule something (presumably a government).

Re anyone interested in a “psychology of bitcoin(ers)” perspective from someone who’s been in a Fukuyama vortex for the past four days:
Fukuyama suggests that the desire for access to consumer goods was a greater force in liberalizing authoritarian states such as the USSR and communist China than the states’ compassion toward their voiceless population…in this way, tax free “black market” clothing swaps may be an act of political protest.

I'm not a trader, but I am working on rolling over an old retirement account into something that can at least buy an ETF.

If I thought you were serious, I wouldn't have responded with my own sarcasm.
how much do u need saved in bitcoin in order to quit, withdraw all, pay the fiat-use penalty, and start somewhere or something else? i don't believe in being able to ever make substantial use of the so-called retirements account by the expected age of retirement. they are all going to zero or to a strict allowance schedule. once i accepted this reality, i took the necessary steps.
reply
I understand the perspective of taking the tax penalty now to have bitcoin under my control, rather than putting it in an ETF.
The thing is, I hate taxes more than I love bitcoin and weird stuff happens over long enough time horizons. It's entirely possible that there will be opportunities to get out of these retirement funds at much lower tax rates sometime in the next several decades. In that event, I'll be able to get the best of both worlds.
I'm glad you got your financial house in order, to your satisfaction.
How could be possible Bitcoin adoption with these communists that are throwing water over peaceful tourists drinking a coffee one a terrace?
How idiot could be to do such thing, shooting yourself in your own foot?

reply
I know. I'm just joking around with the "commie" stuff. My understanding is that a pretty sizeable majority of Catalonians want independence.
reply
42 sats \ 2 replies \ @fm 8 Jul
I cant say majority.. But a lot of people do. The big cities tend to Spain while the rural catalonia tends for independence. Since decades ago, Franco boosted industry both in Pais Vasco and Catalonia, there was a major influx of Spaniard workers that diluted a lot the independence feeling. Im not native here, but i live here for almost 2 decades.. Its actually interesting to see their figth against Spain.. I respect that a lot.
reply
I guess the first referenda were a while ago, at this point. Didn't independence get pretty substantial majorities in those votes?
Spain would NEVER allow that. The ETA, a terrorist group from the Basque region, used to plant bombs and Spain still didn't grant them independence. Imagine if Texas wanted independence, what do you think the US would do?

reply
I'm not actually sure what the current regime would do. I think we're heading in that direction, though. It doesn't change the point that Texas should be allowed to secede.
Btw, the Texas constitution includes its right to secede and that was approved by the federal government when Texas gained statehood.
reply
Looks like I made a bad call on the state. 🤠 I didn't know that.

Actually, it's probably the best state to choose, because it most clearly gets at the willingness to use power in a completely illegal manner.
That's why I said "I'm not actually sure what the current regime would do."

reply
21 sats \ 7 replies \ @k00b 8 Jul
I think it's mostly a matter of making it high quality/timeless and selling it for bitcoin. When I look in my shirt drawer, I almost always prefer a lightning store t-shirt because the tee is high quality and the print is good.

Public vs Private

How your Rights are Taken

We need to be honest and truthful from the very being, you rights and freedoms are never taken, they are given away, it’s just that you didn’t know how, or even saw it happen.
You need to get your mind-set right, and know that your freedom and rights can never be taken; the system tricks you into giving them away.
The people who control the system do this through many deceptive tricks, one is to lower your status; another is to pull you into the public and out of the private.
They do this by using the tactic of fear to get you to consent. This is not a new tactic, in fact it’s the oldest one in the book, and this warning is often told, time and time again, throughout history and in religious text.
Note: Temptation can also be used against you, but fear is more effective.
Simply put, evil needs you to agree to act upon you.
For example: The Devil requires you to agree before he can act, vampires need you to freely invite them into your home before they have power over you. These tales are repeated in almost all languages, cultures and religions.
Although the true existence of these fabled creatures is up to the individual to decide, the message is true.
reply
VERY important piece ! Thank you for posting it. Many people nowadays do not know on which side (public or private) they should act for specific actions and most of the time they confuse public with private. They were tricked, as you said, to not know on what side they are.
Police cannot enter into your house / property at least you are inviting them inside. Once they are inside they will start looking and ask questions. NEVER do that (invite them inside). FUCK'EM like this

This PR basically introduces a wallet template so to add a new wallet to SN, we only need to fill out this template. No complicated, error-prone changes across multiple files required anymore.
I might even include LNbits for receiving to test how well it actually works in practice. It worked well for the existing wallets. But all existing wallets only support receiving or sending, but not both yet. So LNbits would be the first wallet that supports sending and receiving at the same time then.
Let's see.
