Is there a way to zap without revealing an email address and date of birth? Why so much information is needed?

Try another client like Amethyst
They are likely outsourcing custody to a custodian that requires KYC. The only two companies providing this kind of service are Strike and ZBD and both would make them do this KYC (unless they're using someone else).

Ignore them. If KYC, they are crap then.
nostr client with integrated wallet is really a bad idea.
I do not understand why people are so obsessed with zaps and having a wallet for nostr.

I agree, nostr should be independent of Lighting
from what I've heard you can provide anything. This is not "KYC"-- this is a form.
Not true I'm afraid. I tried feeding it false information and gave it an email alias that goes to an actual address I control. Got an email from wallet(at)primal.net that saying they couldn't activate based on the info provided. It's actual KYC.
I'd guess the ToS says you will be locked out of your account if you lie.
From what I've heard this information is used to search background-check-like providers for your real identity.
HEAVENS! Pretty sure they can't "lock you out" of a Nostr account, so just your Phillip McCrack wallet.

Bring your own wallet with an extension like @Alby but I think that's it.
The imposition of KYC measures can be seen as a betrayal of Bitcoin’s founding philosophy of permissionless, borderless, and peer-to-peer financial transactions.
You don't have to use the Primal wallet. You can use any Lightning wallet to zap with Primal. KYC goes against the spirit of bitcoin and nostr.
Try another one.
