What if this world was just a dream, and when we woke up in a different reality, we realized that our life was just a dream?
That's an interesting philosophical question about which I have reflected a lot. The idea is a variant of the "dream argument" that has been developed and discussed in philosophical and literary traditions. It holds that perception and experience are less certain than one might otherwise think - that what we call real may be just an illusion or a dream.
Perhaps most famously in philosophy, René Descartes considers this in his "Meditations on the First Philosophy," where he wonders if there is any way to distinguish a waking state from a dream state. This leads to his famous conclusion, "Cogito, ergo sum" (I think, therefore I am), which he used as the basis for building knowledge, since even if he was dreaming, the fact that he was thinking proved his existence.
This question touches on themes of existentialism, reality, and consciousness, and provokes serious thought about the realism of life's existence and the reliability of perception. It may not have a definite answer, but it certainly provokes deep thought and good discussion.
What do you think, Stackers?
The "Matrix" and the "World was a Dream" allegories make more transparent an ultimate, cold, hard truth: leave aside the parallels, for even if this was to be the one sole reality, you still can be disconnected from it without ever realizing. Think about it and you will immediately remember of people and of your own experiences as examples. How many times have you found yourself in disbelief of how could you have been so absorbed in a vision that resulted to be false?

This would kind of tie in with the simulation thesis.

All that we see or seem Is but a dream within a dream.

My life is a dream. When I sleep at night I visit my other realities. This is one of many dimensions we reside in. 🤷‍♂️

Is it not a dream?

Thank you for this question.
Before I answer I would like to ask “what if this world is NOT a fragment of our imagination and all of this is real?”
How come we became suspicious and say “are there other realities?”. To be honest so far we have no solid evidence of other realities, just theories. So it is not even a real issue that matters your life.
You will eat when you become hungry (or not hungry). You will sleep when you feel asleep. Your problems will remain the same. Your challenges will be the same.
So even if you learn that this thing we called “Earth or Universe” is a figment of our imaginations this information might not even help you. Because -somehow I don’t know- we are here and this is what it is.
Actually it all boils down to thinking about the things that we don’t know. Maybe it is real maybe not. In each case I need to go to work :(

Healing severe diseases with praying is exactcly what people were doing while black death was in europe 700 years ago. Even flagellants appeared as a way for salvation via embracing Jesus's pain by inflicting it to themselves. And they were still dying.
Today's "christian science" have promoted to avoid doctors at all cost a while back, even for children with grave illnesses.
Or JW prohibiting blood transfusions.
There is nothing divine in human beliefs. Just humans dehumanising themselves and their children.
