Honestly its pretty much what I expected. The fact that this is the front running candidate says more about the state of the US than it does about him or the bitcoin community.

Not really. Maybe I don't pay enough attention. He's always cringe to me. But, he's funnier than most of these clowns.
I cringe at ANY politician. My wife can't watch a speech with me. Any time these guys act like I need them... I want to turn my back.
I thought he would stick to the talking points rather than rambling about things no one cared about but Trump can't not ramble.
So much rambling. The actual substance was about 3 to 5 minutes total tops. The rest was babbling.

I really didn't expect more from him either, if I saw his talk at the conference it was to laugh, and the guy almost got it.
