I think I got um all. We will see....
  1. Build many power plants to support bitcoin mining, AI, and EV chargers
  2. End the war on Crypto led by Senator Warren
  3. On day one fire Gary Gensler
  4. End operation chokepoint 2.0
  5. Keep bitcoin jobs in America
  6. Appoint bitcoin and crypto advisory counsel staffed by people that love the industry
  7. Order treasury and other departments to end CBDC plans. No CBDC while he is president
  8. Defend the right to self custody.
  9. Protect freedom, property rights, and privacy
  10. Create framework for stable coins to continue to establish the dominance of the US dollar
  11. Keep 100% of bitcoin the government currently holds. No more selling by government agencies.
  12. Commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht to time served.
You can take these promises for what they are worth. It isn't much but I will say this. I've been paying attention to politics for about 30 years. Trump probably kept more promises (key ones) than any other guy I can recall.
Clearly he's pandering. I know he's been consulted by Vivek Ramaswamy and many others about bitcoin and crypto. His words are not the thing to care about here. Nor is the man important. What is important is that he feels the need to make these promises. Bitcoiners can no longer be ignored by these criminals. They feel the need to take a stance.
Just like you shouldn't get your religion from the state. You shouldn't put your faith in people that can make bold promises with little consequence for breaking it. Bitcoin is designed to make these guys less important. This is one step down that road.
Clearly Trump doesn't understand bitcoin.
"Bitcoin is not threatening the dollar. The behavior of the government is threatening bitcoin."
But that's OK. This is just a part of the journey we are all on. Just don't fall for this trick. Vote or don't vote. I don't care. But realize that bitcoin fixes this. Trump doesn't fix bitcoin. I welcome most of these promises he has made. I hope he keeps them.

He literally said something along the lines of "it makes sense to be nice to you guys at least until the election". This goes to show that he's just rallying, albeit rallying in front of shitcoin magazin's audience

"Bitcoin is not threatening the dollar. The behavior of the government is threatening bitcoin."
At least he is speaking Bitcoin twice in a sentence. It's enough for a doom to Fiat world.
reply
Fingers crossed the current regime sells it all, just to preemptively spite Trump.
reply
I can already picture Robert Kiyosaki trying to capitalise on this by crying Doomsday and selling his $1 crypto guide via his Facebook
reply
Haha that would be a big FU.
reply
Trump should have said: bitcoin will be exempt from capital gains tax
Capital gains tax should be abolished for all assets
reply
Come to Singapore. No capital gains tax here

Satoshi Nakamoto

Rumors are that it was supposed to be Elon
reply
Did he punk them because Bailey shared his plane location on twitter?
reply
No clue. I doubt that though or else they would not have announced a guest.
Suspect it was something else. All speculation though.
reply
Wondering the same thing
reply
There was a special guest other than Trump at the conference?
reply
I totally agree. Bitcoin doesn't need politicians to survive. They need bitcoin, instead. Bitcoin is not a U.S. thing, it is the world's "thing."
reply
I dont know if he will have the power to do any of these things, even if he becomes president.
reply
He can free Ross.
reply
Yeah, he will have the power once he is president. But will he actually do it?
reply
I don't trust him but I hope he does.

Politicians are very slippery.

I can't understand the disappointment of some people here about the Trump speech. I see it from an individual point of view: the fact that top politicians from the world's most important economy are talking about Bitcoin on an ongoing basis should set off alarm bells. You have to make sure that you have enough of it yourself if you want to prosper economically, that the states would enter this market and this technology, that was clear for a long time.

Let’s see what the history book will write about this….
reply
LOL you still follow promises from a politician? Totally useless.

Touche

I agree. But I don't follow pro wrestling any more so I gotta do something.
Sounds like you didn't read what I wrote though Darth.
Honestly, I follow it like the weather. Do I need to wear a hat? Do I need to bring an umbrella?
reply
I read it all. And I was surprised that came from you... And yes politics is like weather: you don't give a shit anyways if it rains or is sunny.
reply
Sorry to disappoint you. I suspect it won't be the last time.
reply
It is interesting to hear what he promises, though.

RFK has skin-in-the-game, he is therefore more likely to keep his promises, although I deplored the fact that he only seemed to be concerned about NgU (please correct me if I'm wrong here).
Personally, I'd rather see the US leading the rest of the world on Bitcoin than any other country, I am therefore leaning more towards Trump, even though he clearly does not (yet) understand Bitcoin as RFK, and he doesn't have to, but you can tell he's been very well advised on the subject, and his pro-business stance had more depth than RFK's. Besides, NgU with or without RFK...
We live in interesting times, politicians cannot afford to ignore us any more.
reply
"....No CBDC while he is president..." that sounds like a threat...lol So, when he is not, then is OK? NO, it's never OK, make sure that never happens. He should cemented in law that money belongs to people (private property) and not to the government.
reply
He can't do anything when he's not president.
reply
Weird take. It's a common saying, like if you oppose something you say, "as long as I'm in charge it won't happen." That doesn't mean you support the thing happening when you're not in charge
reply
We already have CBDC…it’s the current system
reply
To be honest, I don't trust what politicians say.

Trump = honeypot , Nashville Btc Conference = Scam , we don't need nothing
reply
I was very sceptical of the speech because he is just a politican.
The speech had so much potential that was not used at all just by mentioning "crypto" everytime he had said "bitcoin". Second, he talked about inflation infront of the audiance that understands the topic the most. What the fuck was he talking about when mentioning bitcoin price go up during his presidency ? He took the price go up 3000% as his doing, like what ?
reply
Where did he say that euronews (the news lies)?
reply
🤡
reply
Bitcoin fixes everyone, including Trump.
reply
Yea his speech annoyed me in the fact he treated it like a "rally". He was thanking people and dropping names. He should of been on point about crypto and what he was going to do.
I myself think him bringing it up at this point and time even if he doesn't plan on doing any of it. Is it might get a few more people who are not bitcoiners to start looking at it!
reply
I agree with you. It isn’t so much the contents of these promises as the fact that the Bitcoiner tribe has grown influential enough for their presence to be acknowledged
reply
I think bitcoin is useful for goverment too there are many reason for this. You want to know a reason than comment me
reply
Trump's wagging his tail high against democrats! Politics is only for those who can do a flip-flop

Now let's see what the result is after this conference?
