Hope is despair in modern world or so it seems. The current situation of world isn't hidden from any of us and what we've witnessed in a matter of few days today, validate this 'deep and everlasting state of despair' even more strongly. Bangladesh protests are another fine example of killing a democracy and killing hopes for humanity and giving rise to Islamic extremism among the most lovable people who speak one of the sweetest languages in the world.
The world is already in a big mess with full scale wars taking place in more than two geographical locations. Whether these wars aren't enough, we are already listening of civil unrests/protests from multiple countries. As a person of democratic and secular beliefs, I'm not against protests by people for their rights. But what irks me that all of the protests end up to be ugly and violent, be it recent Venezuela or UK.
Another thing that shatters me a lot is the MSM of our times. Instead of digging more upon them right now, I would just say that MSM has lost the way of reporting. It will most probably be biased and incomplete of information if you read about such events from them.
Another such violent protests have been taking place in Bangladesh since mid July. The headlines, if we read from MSM, will show like '300 killed in protests in Bangladesh', '96 killed yesterday' and so on, are written to seek reader's attention and are often far from reality.
In the case of Bangladesh, what I've listened through real mouths, it's the public servants (Police) who have lost more lives while trying to stop a violent mob of students in the capital. As it was a student union led protest, the use of life taking weapons by armed forces has been denied. Even to protect their lives from the stoning and fire bottles from students, those servants could do nothing except retreat. And finally, they gave up today after they got no support from Army against a mob of a million students who were offered talks by the PM, but they took the route of violence. Let me show you some pictures of these students to decide whose lives might have been lost.
Now, the innocent Students have stormed into the PM house in Dhaka and just shamelessly either destroying the building or stealing things of utility in packets.
The innocent students have also attacked buildings of worship of other religions and demolished them because it was necessary for their Justice.
The innocent students have even set fire to public transport, government veichles and many buildings because it's what a student should be doing.
I'm no expert of reporting on such issues but I know the reality because I only speak what I see from my eyes or listen through my ears. I'm gonna make a real statement now and as you know reality is harsh.

Bangladesh is now just another Islamic Extremist State.

The protests in Bangladesh have been sponsored by the opposing party (BNP) which had been demanding the resign from Hasina since January this year.
The main opposition party, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), demanded that the government hand over power to a neutral caretaker government before the next elections. This has been rejected by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who vowed that "Bangladesh will never allow an unelected government again"

To tell you the truth a culture of violence and Islamic extremism has been developing ever since 1971. The Madaras have been teaching young kids about 'the importance of zihad', it was just that they couldn't get organised but for this time, they got the support from students. It's now clear that Bangladeshi extremists have now become organised and they have been well funded, most probably from Pakistan and other extremist countries. For, the reasons, how it all happened, here's a research paper independently done..

Religious Extremism and Nationalism in Bangladesh

Welcome to the Islamic State of Bangladesh.

Islam is a menace to civilized society. So many interpretations of it are of a religion of violence, hate, and oppression. Islam is also responsible for more conquest than anything else in human history. Yes, even the British: while Islamic countries weren't as successful at colonization than the British due to inferior technology, they tried a lot harder and were much more brutal about it. Indeed, the Crusades were actually a morally righteous response to Islamic conquests. The Crusaders were protecting Europe from getting wiped out by Islamic nutjobs who would have invaded Europe entirely if given a chance.
Violent interpretations of Islam should not be tolerated in civilized society. Unfortunately, that's most interpretations.

Hard disagree with your first sentence here.
Islamic countries may have been home to a lot of notorious terrorists like Bin Laden, ISIS and those Hamas leaders who were killed the other day, but every other religion is just as capable of creating an extremist people, and they do.
See for example Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, Antifa and groups like that.
None of this good, and extremism in all forms has to go.

I agree. The average Islamist will trash your opinion with his other worldly theories. They won't accept a simple thing that violence is violence, no matter you do it in the name of God (Zihad). I've listened from so many muslims that zihad is a good thing and it teaches them to against kafirism (idol worshiping). What happens if other people start viewing islam with the same eyes?

I would say Judaism is a menace to civilized society.

Amazing! You've got lots of sats on this post!
The people of Bangladesh will have to pay a big price for this. I agree that the country will now be another radical islamic state with lots of terrorism.
reply
Well, I feel really vas for the minorities there because they will now have no worth as humans.

The US is not very impressed with her record on free and fair elections. On the other hand, is the US in a position to judge?
reply
It's not US. It's the Biden government that propagate false narratives about so many things to its people. In fact who doesn't know the situation of minorities in Bangladesh and Pakistan? Has Biden ever spoken about them?
As you know that Bangladesh has been the part of Pakistan before 1971 and it's something that Pakistan regrets too much. For this, Pakistan has sponsored all of this in Bangladesh.

I hope that this possibility of an Islamic state does not become a reality... it would be something quite regrettable... on the other hand, if we analyze it, this situation could be seen coming, it is a very complex situation that exists in that place... and obviously the media communication do the worst to hide, disappear or disguise the information so that it is at the convenience of those who pay them the most... the media such as television or the press have become the most rotten... because they profit not only from the profit they they can obtain for providing a service or informing... if not with what they secretly pay the owners of the television stations or owners of the newspapers... so that they do not tell things as they are... at the end of the chain what people common people end up reading is garbage... that does not contribute anything to their knowledge and all the news is altered and meaningless...
reply
Well said! For Bangladesh, they can only pay local media, but being neighbours and having lots of my people there, I know the truth. The Army have rekt the most democratic political party of Bangladesh in matter of few days. They have called for an interim government there (we know what government). There will be situation much like Pakistan where the interference of Army has led to total demolition of humanity. There will be no place for any sort of civilization and it will become another adda of terrorism.

Hey, good information! That is one of the things I like most about S.N. that you can find people from all over the world... and that on this occasion, notice, they are very close to the situation and know the truth... that truth that the media is not going to transmit. .. Thanks for the information 👍

I just don’t see Bangladesh being accepting of IS.
There are, like many countries, some extremist religious types but the average person I have met there doesn’t come across that way.
You don’t often see the full veil in Dhaka or other cities when moving around there.
Having said that I’m really worried about the future for Bangladesh. In the 5 or so years I have been travelling there it has been transformed…..but there is still a huge gap between rich and poor.
The lack of jobs and opportunities is what I believe has caused the riots. Young people see a future only of struggle, not of hope and opportunity.

It's an issue in so many other countries. Should the students start violence there? What about setting fire to public buses and buildings? What about stealing things from PM house and what it has to do with damaging Zia ur Rahman's statue?

Totally shocked to see the damage to statues of such important people in the history of Bangladesh.
I wasn’t trying to justify w the violence at all, more just a rationale for the reason why they were rioting. I agree that a lack of jobs & opportunities is common in other countries too but more and more we are seeing protests turn violent in other countries too.
I do think the election this year has also been a big factor. Usually if people are unhappy they could vote out an incumbent but I don’t think you could call the recent election free & fair. When this happens a number of times the people will eventually rise up.

Objectively speaking, what do you think is best for Bangladesh? Were the protests for a good cause or did they have the opposite effect?
reply
They had the opposite effect.
reply
pitching one group of people against another using religious dogma must have been quite a feat at the time of christian crusades, requiring decades of indoctrination (brainwashing). today the crusades are made very effectively on the internet, in record time.

How does Islam fit into the picture here?
