I'd imagine Judo is better for a young one. Opportune time to learn balance-based martial arts without as much risk of injury.
Judo is good also if she wants to get into BJJ later as it will help with grappling.

Nice. How long did you train BJJ for?
reply
Only 18 months 2-3 days/week. I'd still do it if I could stop myself from obsessing about it to the detriment of other things or if I found it more natural so maybe I wouldn't need to obsess about it. I saw an appreciable difference going from 2 days/week to 3 days/week, so I'd recommend a minimum of 3 days/week.
It's a great sport on a number of levels. Met one my best friends training. He got his brown belt last year.

My best friend has been doing BJJ for years. I used to take kickboxing lessons with him and he moved on to BJJ. He has competed a couple times at tournaments. He loves it. I think he is also a brown belt. He hopes to get to black belt eventually but is only training a couple times a week so it will take some time.
