We all know that spending SATs is way harder than spending dirty 💰 FIAT, but it's a necessary step in order to help BTC adoption.
I have bought some items and services during my orange life.
The first purchase I did using BTC as money was to buy an online course about trading...Big mistake, I know, sorry.
What was the first item or service that you bought using BTC as payment???
A cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts through the Bitcoin Company. Some people say that doesn't count.
reply
They're right -- the stuff Dunkin serves should not count as actual coffee.

Our resident coffee snob. In my family this is the dialogue: "Ooh. This coffee has been sitting for hours. It's burnt. "
My wife: " Leave it. Dad will drink it. "
reply
I will drink it too. Coffee is coffee. N it gives me an excuse to drink another cup
reply
In fairness, I'll drink the bad coffee, too. I just like being a snob about it.
reply
The difference is I don't know it's bad.
reply
I love being a coffee snob while drinking instant

The first item I bought with SATs was a book for 500 SATs titled "WE INVENTED BITCOIN" which was very interesting to me, it was an educational purchase and I do not regret it. Many people use their SATs for purchases of necessary items not related to Bitcoin and that is part of the Circular Economy. In my case I am in favor of it, but also of buying elements associated with Bitcoin such as: paying for courses on Bitcoin, supporting educational projects about Bitcoin, Hardware Wallet to increase the security of our funds. In the long term, that investment in our education and security is smart and returns.

I play this addicting rhythm game called osu! and while the game is free they offer these osu!supporter benefits for those who want to support it.
It accepted quite a lot of payment methods and one that caught my eye was BitPay, wait a minute, I can buy osu!supporter with cryptocurrency?
I could not hold my urge and I asked a friend to lend me some BTC, and I went ahead to do it. though the item was supposed to be $4 I ended up paying over $7 due to BitPay and on-chain network transaction fees, this was way before I learned about the lightning network, in fact, I only discovered lightning these past days and it's unbelievable!
Still, that's what got me interested in crypto and finally seeing what spending it felt like because I never thought anyone would use Bitcoin as a payment method, it was this weird internet token that stock market nerds look at the graphs, I thought.
