What type of hardware you need to reach 270TH ?

reply

You could do it with a single pair of the Antminer S19 XPs (140 TH/s each).

Or you could do it with about twenty of the Antminer S9s (14 TH/s each).

There's no way to identity what specific equipment is in use though.

could be even a gameboy :)

reply

Yes. Even a gameboy. Assuming you can wait for

560,315,049,676,560 (560 trillion) years!

https://solochance.com (8 H/s. Not 8 TH/s, not 8 MH/s, not even 8 KH/s. Nope, it mines at 8 H/s.)

Somebody tell to the "gameboy" guy to switch to BSV and make a 51% attack and finish once and for all that shit

LOL, ... might also need a handful of PS4s too, but it could probably do it!!

It would be ironic justice though if what finished off BSV was some toys!!

reply

anyways, now BSV have only 2 miners: Faketoshi and his mom :)

reply

I have patience :)

reply

You mean a loooot of gameboy ?

reply

No. It is possible also with just one... if you are really lucky. Mining is about luck in the end.

reply

Ok it's like you find the correct hash on the first time ?

reply

This makes me think it would be neat to see a list of all hashes that were found simultaneously. I guess that's just a chart of chaintips?

but also you need to be fast to broadcast it before others...

reply

Haha seems to be almost impossible with this kind of hardware so.

There are many options for industrial miners, but you can also achieve that with home miners.

Here are a couple of options:

About a thousand USB sticks like this one:

That's a Compac F and can mine at about 300GH+.

Or you can get about a hundred of these guys: https://i.imgur.com/vhysF3Z.jpg

That's an Apollo BTC(three in that picture), each one of those units mines at about 3TH+

There had been a dry spell, with no blocks mined on solo.CKPool.org since April, but earlier in the year solo miners were popping off!

At current difficulty, it would take a solo miner with 270 TH/s seventeen long years to solve a block. This miner took the chance at going it alone (versus mining with a pool), and the bet paid off!!

Chance per block: 1 in 878,301 Chance per day: 1 in 6,099 Time estimate: 17 years

I implore anyone who is considering mining solo to realistically weight up their chances before doing so. This site will give you an accurate view of the probabilities http://solochance.com
