Originally this belongs to a very different project than the one I have started with this account, but perhaps that is just an illusion of mine?
We're never outside of our mind, so it certainly makes a lot of sense being in control of as much of it as we can.
In my case I've been sort of a hangaround in mainly the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, since I did a deep dive into it in 94. I've also been part of a group around someone who had a permanent change of mind for a couple of decades, where we analyzed and tried to make sense of a lot of traditions and known figures through the ages.
But, as is self evident by now, so much of these traditions have been cosying up to the woke, leading to pollution and corruption, and in many cases totally blocking any realistic prospect of really getting somewhere. All there is in many cases is a schmaltzy mix of the genuine and Marxist, insane woke...
Bitcoin on its own is a fascinating thing to study in this context, our perception of it is of course always a mental construct, as any model of reality outside of ourselves is. But, due to its nature, it has this way of uprooting delusions, impure ambitions, egocentric drives, but also anything woke, any learnt helplessness or programming that undercuts yourself.

My question to ya'll here

Ultimately Bitcoin is still technology in the external world. In my case if it would go to a million tomorrow I'd literally go off to a cave in the Himalayas, selling some for cash and gold I'd go offline for as long as it takes to recuperate from the meat and mind-grinder the past years have been.
Maybe I'd take a Gopro or such along, maybe I'd do videos or recordings, maybe I'd publish that later, maybe I'd earn sats for that, or maybe I'd be shot down as an old loon.
Then again maybe I should just get going doing this stunt right now? Maybe there is a space for someone dismantling his own mind, rebuilding it somehow in a weird way, all in public with Bitcoin mixed in?
Maybe going through decades of previous experiences with Bitcoin mixed in could help root out all the woke mind viruses, with no second thoughts about self censorship, or being shut out of the fiat mines permanently?
And curiously when I go through this now I see that there is a connection to the ancap/rebel angle too, rooting out the woke, retarded, complacent and stuck also makes the mind way more capable to cope with adverse, unexpected conditions...
Any thoughts or feedback is very welcome, up to & including verbal abuse! ;-)
Bitcoin(ers) need many things in the meatspace... from stores accepting BTC to coworking/coliving spaces to meetups to alternative education to what occurred to me now:
Bitcoin Temple "Disconnect from the fiat world, arrive in the real world"
Just a stray thought, feel free to run with it / build it. Because as I understand, there's very few of us around who actually take this seriously (and who take the slow motion trainwreck of the fiat world seriously) so step #1 would probably be to make sure you get enough interest in the project and people who are willing to commit. Just a random thought really. But I feel ya. I'm not even too much "in" the fiat world yet it is still tiresome. And although rolling solo for a while has had its charms, I am getting anxious about finding "my tribe" and people I could actually vibe with, in general.

In a country like El Salvador this would be a great project!
For the locations that are realistic for me, at least at this stage, I will need to convert to fiat, but my thinking is that if I keep track of the metrics on a daily basis and also communicate that somehow, then it will be a sort of simulation, a very early test run of sorts :-)
I've always been early to adopt tech, but often too early or late to really monetize it. This time around real money itself is the adoption and project!

This sentence made me think of the future stratification of society. If you come to be perceived as a King because you own Bitcoin, the commoners won't expect to hang out with you.
reply
I don’t think either of these things are related. Go to the mountains, nothing is stopping you. You will either love it and stay forever, or slowly miss all the comforts of civilized life.
Reality is the dream, Buddhism teaches you to wake up from it, so I am confused by the seemingly negative tone you have about this wakefulness given the parallel romanticism you seem to have to it?
reply
They are certainly related as what is happening in the economy and with Bitcoin instructs what freedom I might have now & in the future to even do such things...

Yeah this is how it is, too. In a less complex world, as it was a while back too, none of this would even need any attention. As for negativity there are things in my previous experience(s) that is connected to that of course, which is also something I'll get into.
Why? Because I see connections between these things. I've been in situations for longer periods where I've lived it, and when analyzing why that did not last there was always something woke or fiat related as the root cause... Be that in myself, others, the structures I've lived in, or all of that.
Thanks for the feedback, its valuable and exactly what I'm looking for here to follow all of this through!
reply
I hear you. My only question is, is your post a hypothetical?
I guess I am hung up on the mountains thing. What is currently your state of freedom that denies you from going?
reply
Oh, its not hypothetical at all, and actually its a very practical matter for myself the coming years! :-)
There is nothing as of now that denies me from going, visited Nepal for the first time in 29 years twice this year already. The thing is that I have decided to turn the whole thing into content for sats or whatever else that can be generated from that.
This does feel like squaring a circle, and it is that in a spiritual sense. Still we live in a world where its far less probable that you can really retreat from it all, that is far more complex and needs some analysis, development and guts to get going I think...
Currently I'm fine, super low expenses, but also a need to get this going, which has to happen in other jurisdiction for reasons like work permit and so on. Nepal is on top of my list, then we'll have to see, anywhere that cash is still king is fine with me :-)
reply
Well, as they say, “no time like the present.” If you are looking for permission from strangers on the internet, this is it. Git ‘er done
reply
Permission? What I'm trying to figure out is if there is an even miniscule demand for content like this, that is all ;-)
This is a good place to get some feedback from smart, independent people, of course larger numbers are available in the fiat universe, but I want to have fully uncensorable platforms and Bitcoin as my base or foundation before I plug that in.
reply
if there is an even miniscule demand for content like this, that is all
So you are then looking for validation from strangers... a bit of a non-sense, looking at the context. Anyway, I think you are starting from the wrong point: if it is something you really want to do, you should do it a priori, with or without a pre-boxed audience that maybe is willing to follow your journey, with or without a gopro, with or without Bitcoin reaching a million...
reply
That would cancel the whole thing to begin with, I'd have to go right back into any shitty, low level fiat mine in a country where I'm not even welcome even though I'm born there...
If I sail an old, shitty boat across treacherous seas I'd collect the opinion of both old fishermen, amateur sailors, or anyone who've been in those waters before going. Once I'm at the helm its different of course!
I think I get you now. I personally am way less measured. I just yolo in full steam without a second thought haha. My justification would be, “I’ll at least get one hell of a Himalayan mountain adventure out of it”
reply
Haha, well your take on it is certainly the way I'll play it once I pull the trigger!
The only thing is that these days there is no safety net any longer, no retreat other than being the domestic t3rr0rist haha... Which makes it worthwhile to plan for all sorts of strange eventualities, like mental maps that can also be content on its own :-)
I'll get around to writing about the extreme conditions that I left when I bailed the West too, some of it could be very helpful for some since I've seen a lot of wild stuff, sort of inside the beast itself...
If there is one thing I can say, it is that bitcoin can solve many problems; but nobody is interested. That is why it is so important that people like you or me teach about bitcoin, so many will have the opportunity to emancipate themselves, free themselves from this rotten system and undertake as a new citizen.
reply
That is always the case before mass adoption, of course... In 92 or so I got my first "mobile" phone, it weighed in at 10 kg, came with a pro forma license to operate a radio station, was around 500 bucks used & beaten up, I had to fix the battery myself haha
I had to carry it around inside a plastic bag sometimes to avoid unwanted attention!
Then early one morning where I'd been setting up a gallery with a friend in my idealistic phase it suddenly dawned on me... Why are not all phones mobile??
If I had acted on that thought 100% from then on I'd been loaded within a decade, one way or another...
Bitcoin will be different in many ways of course. If I do this ting 100% I will also try to "hook up" as many payment and tips channels as possible, while still keeping it about the underlying technology and value of Bitcoin.
When you need to eat you gotta be practical! ;-)
Of course a main feature of something like this is to keep a running report on how it goes along, from how to avoid expenses to forecasting the future, as well as doing as many days as possible spending only what I make. That would be integral to all the content.

Just like you said. It is a virus and if Bitcoin goes to a million I will gladly buy yours. As for the corrupted ideology, it is indeed corrupted pretty much like a Marxist Capitalist. It doesn't exist it should not exist but we are seeing it.
reply
With "Marxist Capitalist" are you thinking of how the corporations and fiat printers seemingly usurped and took over the left a while ago?
That was sooo obvious at the time, personally I saw it happening while I could find no one else that did.... Now it is of course totally obvious, and a real enemy!
reply

I don't even understand what you are saying here. "Marxist Capitalist" doesn't make sense, doesn't exist, yes. But how are we seeing it? What.

What particularly about the Himalayas holds such appeal for you? If it’s Mount Fuji, will it feel the same?

Never been to Japan, so I don't know, yet at least!
Its previous lives, as well as visiting 3 times in 95/96 that I'll get around to writing about later.
I have no idea how I'd feel about the region without that part in my mindstream, all I know is that its been there since I discovered that connection when I was around 15 :-)

Existential issues are always a good topic for debate, but this time I will focus more on
"if tomorrow Bitcoin reaches a million"
If that happens, I understand that I will be able to help my family and that would be a great joy to me. But like you, I would change a little, just a little.
Gold is also very good within the exchange, but with what changes, I am going to wait for the correction to buy again and accumulate more, because the solution with Bitcoin is not going to be in what we can sell it, rather in what we may have by the time general adoption occurs. So, I would also continue posting and accumulating.
reply
So, I would also continue posting and accumulating.
I have no fiat income, and also no realistic way of getting into one of those mines without risking all, Bitcoin, freedom and location, also physical health.
For me its better to prioritize what can barely make it into the real adoption, which is why I wrote about Bridging the Freedom Gap, here: #669330
It fits in well with what I want to do anyway to live in extremely frugal ways, and if I bring what I really want to produce content around into the Bitcoin universe then that would take away almost all of the stress that self censorship and managing actual risk, like being a sitting duck in this particular location...
To reformulate: would it be a good idea to mix these things into whatever else I do, will that type of content make it easier for me to make the ~10-30 dollars worth in sats each day that is what I need to spend daily?
Even if there is a low. but not zero change of getting to that level inside say half a year it would be worth it for me to go all in on :-)
