Digital Euro Nears Launch as ECB Enters Final Preparation Phase

The European Central Bank (ECB) is edging closer to rolling out the digital euro, with the final preparation phase expected to last another year. According to ECB Executive Board member Piero Cipollone, the project has been in the works since 2021. Speaking before the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, Cipollone confirmed that the ECB is now midway through its preparation, aiming for completion within 12 months.

Maybe the gods of finance send us the collapse of this shitcoin before this happens...

Governments all over the world, supply products that the market will never demand (e.g., CBDC), then use force to pressure citizens into adopting and using their undemanded products. Unfortunately, most citizens comply.

How stupid all this drama about CBDC is! There's no difference in CBDC or Cash or card. It's just all governments are now feeling desperate and some of the wise ones may know that Bitcoin has already started changing the money landscape, would buy with the CBDC Bitcoin.

I’m not convinced the digital euro will become a reality. Many people are opposed to it, and even some politicians don’t want it. If it’s forced upon everyone, I still don’t think people will use it. This isn’t because people understand the nuances, but rather because old habits are hard to break. A similar thing has been observed in China and Africa. There is a big difference between using something a few times and fully adopting it.

I'm not the one who's going to use it, but I have to admit that CBDCs are very good for governments and it's certainly only a matter of time before they're forced to use them. This is the worst, programmable state money is total control over the population. With CBDC it is possible to limit, for example, food purchases within a radius of 10 km (in covid this was implemented for sure).

i mean, obvs govs would love this, although i presume people will have a choice (Europe not quite that bad yet)

then again, if i was the gov, i would make anyone receiving any kind of state benefit etc have to have the digital euro since it could be programmed and make it impossible for anyone to abuse the system. like if mums are getting child assistance, program that shit to be only spendable on things actually for kids, baby food, diapers etc. stop irresponsible people using their kids as milking cows
